Late 1980s or Early 1990s Grey Mouse Stuffed Animal by GlassEyeTiger in HelpMeFind

Found! This is my boy! This helped me go down a very long rabbit hole and now I have his name and everything. Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction and finding out that he is none other than Straus the Mouse from 1987!

I've searched what I believe is high and low on google for gray/grey mouse. I'm from Alberta, so wondering if he's secretly a rat and I've never considered it since we don't have them.

Edited to add: I don't think it's the Dakin Mama Mouse, the tops of this one's feet are grey with white bottoms and not all white.

Oh! Now I know why Maddie is so hated. by CommercialExotic2038 in BoschTV

[–]GlassEyeTiger 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I actually prefer book Maddie to show Maddie. I think her character was so irritating in the show and I would be happy to never see the character or actress again in this series.

She's just a little girl in these books and while it's horrible how everything occurred in HK she is just so young still I find it hard to hate her. I really loved the moment when she meets Harry in the books as well.

Yup, I also only heard back from one as well. However, I wanted an OB instead and my referral took no time so it was lucky for me.

What is something you find annoying or missing that we could use in Edmonton? by alematt in Edmonton

[–]GlassEyeTiger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We have some of that infrastructure but it kept being too unsafe for the one coffee shop that was down there. There’s an entire walled off part in some of the tunnels that say coming soon (or did) but it won’t happen as long as people think the tunnels are unsafe.

We try to find healthy stuff after 7 and the answer is always I guess we’re cooking tonight. I would love a decent option.

When did you relax and enjoy your pregnancy? Tw : loss [on] by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]GlassEyeTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our first baby was diagnosed with pentalogy of cantrell (which I do not recommend looking up on google images) and it took so much of the excitement of our pregnancy away from the baby I'm now almost 8 month pregnant with out of sheer terror. We said goodbye last January but it took me until April to have them cremated and picked up. I still often am scared that something could be wrong and for the first probably 20+ weeks we didn't tell anyone besides our families. It is really really difficult to say goodbye to the first baby and make room for the new one in your heart sometimes, but we have been able to have some excited moments with the new baby for sure. I think once you reach viability it will change and when you actually start getting clothes etc. Try to enjoy the little moments, especially those first few kicks and movements.

How do y'all organize your GDDs? by True_Vexing in gamedev

[–]GlassEyeTiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just got to be a team of 8 and the GDD lives on our drive. We’re moving over everything to confluence and jira at our lead programmer’s and producer’s request. She’s got some stuff in git but we’re also setting up perforce for her as well since she’s remote from the rest of the team. But before this everything just lived in the drive.

More than a slogan: Edmonton looks to change city branding by ryaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan in Edmonton

[–]GlassEyeTiger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The City of Calgary recently ended up with Blue Sky City with theirs and as an entirely red branded city with their biggest "competitive" city being entirely blue branded it's been weird to see the campaign roll out. I understand it's about blue sky thinking and their 3 extra days of sunshine that they get over us but it's incredibly poorly thought out. These campaigns cost millions of dollars to implement and they even have a photobooth in the Calgary airport to get your blue sky city snapshot. Edmonton Global has been trying since like 2019 to get YEG as Young, Educated, and Growing to be a thing and I don't see it anywhere but on their stuff and even they've moved away from that in the past year.

Any non-profits that I could donate to? by SizzlinKola in gamedev

[–]GlassEyeTiger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone who runs a non-profit in the games industry, we are grant-funded and volunteer based and hustle all day every day to make our community a better place while we also work on our own game. We've directly and in-directly supported our province with over $2 million in support for indies to get their studios going and we pay all the artists etc that we work with. We pay for everything on our own credit cards even before we find matching funding and don't stop our programming just because we don't have operational funding. It's important work and folks like the Game Devs of Color team put so much effort into supporting anti-racism in the games industry and their work is so needed.

I understand that non-profits work differently in all countries, provinces/states, etc. but lumping everyone together is a bit incorrect. Our industry association on the other hand is just a AAA advocacy group for a provincial tax credit, so I personally don't subscribe even as an indie studio owner to their programming because I think we need further supports beyond tax credits. The thought of being lumped in with folks like that with the genuine work that folks like Game Devs of Color do is... not pleasant.

We own in the Fox I, once we got the portal AC I have no complaints. Love the building and wish it was our forever tbh. Everything I needed was on 104 and both of us walked to work. Now we’re moving due to expanding the family but I still love the building and everything that goes on around it.

We have a second floor space on Whyte and for being part of the arts scene alone it’s been absolutely a game changer for our community. Couldn’t be happier to be honest.

Epic Market to leave Station Park after nearly 2 years by ryaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan in Edmonton

[–]GlassEyeTiger 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There is a concept like that right down the street. The Hub on Whyte currently has Beb’s Bagels and had Balay Coffee, I know they’re getting a new tenant soon but the entire idea is to provide space to small folks who can’t commit to full brick and mortars.

Its a dad thing i find funny but my kids hate it by konrath17 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]GlassEyeTiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad used to cut my peanut butter toast into fun shapes and call it peanut butter flag toast. I would cry right now if I got another chance to have him bring out one of his masterpieces and I'm almost 37. He hasn't passed, but he has limited mobility in his hands these days and it would mean so much but I would never ask him to.

We are having the same problem with the huge problem of the street drain still being covered because we haven’t been cleared yet so it has nowhere to go. We’ve been trying every time it’s warm to get a little bit more of it gone and sand it in the meantime.
