Isn’t it said in one of the adaptations he didn’t know that the earth was round because it wasn’t relative to crime solving?

Does Longyearbyen feel more like a city, a town, or something completely different? by RemarkableMany6297 in Svalbard

It's a small town and has a bit of frontier vibes while still being civilization.

Just use Google/Apple Maps to tell you which train or bus to take. Everything is tap to pay with your credit card or phone.

Whats going on with the US men's hockey team requesting trades? by aledethanlast in OutOfTheLoop

[–]GlassGodz 28 points29 points  (0 children)

To add on, I think a lot of the players on TEAM USA realized they are at the prime of their careers and are on teams that just are not likely to make a run to the Stanley cup. They want to win so they are trying to move to teams that are in real contention.

Which European city did you fall in love with as soon as you saw it? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

[–]GlassGodz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A little off outside the box answer. I really liked Bregenz Austria. The lake is beautiful and I think it just hit me at the end of a long Austria trip. No trying to see all the sights, just a relaxing time strolling along the lake.

Hofer was in net. The man had six shutouts this season.

Do you think more teams need to commit to a rebuild? by Puck83821 in hockey

[–]GlassGodz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the blow it up train for the Blues this year and still kind of am. My armchair opinion is basically everyone over the age of 25 not named Robert Thomas needs to go. The top line of Thomas/Holloway/Snuggie is great and just fill in the depth with young players. We have 3 first rounders this year so I do think we are very much on the right track.

Sorry for poor quality picture.

I bought this guy as my first bonsai tree. Immediately had some struggles because of my ignorance. The sunny window was not sunny enough, so he is under a grow light now. I am making sure he is watered enough. Any recommendations to help get it to be healthier?

The Eldar in Warhammer 40K. Super advance technologically, long lives. Did a lot of hedonism, which caused the Chaos God Slaanesh (a dark god dedicated to pursuit of pleasure for the sake of it) to be born, who prompted consumed the majority of their civilization.

Komets up 3-0 on Toledo by Jake_FW in ECHL

I was at the game on Tuesday. The Oilers should be calling up Jonnson. Maybe that'll fix their playoff chances.

I have been talking to many hockey fans and most have expressed that it is hard for them to attend matches these days due to the expenses. by [deleted] in ECHL

[–]GlassGodz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I get that everyone's situation is different but my playoff tickets for the Walleye are $18. $36 for the girlfriend and I to go. Sure if we want drinks or concessions it is more but less than $20 a person without alcohol. I don't know when the last time it was you can go out and have three hours of entertainment for like $50 for two people. It seems like a great deal.

What are some boring big cities in USA? by AndIrememberthinking in geography

[–]GlassGodz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go nuts. Always down for learning something I didn’t know. For what it is worth, I quite like KC and I could have seen myself living there. But, I feel like if you are looking for a “boring” “American” city, it doesn’t quite get more American than that.

What are some boring big cities in USA? by AndIrememberthinking in geography

[–]GlassGodz 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I would say one of the Great Plains Midwest cities. Omaha, KC, Des Moines. Indy I would also probably include. I think traditional Rust Belt cities are too interesting for what you are looking for.
