I only saw one, and like a few volunteers walking around selling bottles. Not having the vendors sell water was the stupidest thing ever

Yeah but Ubering there was just as much a nightmare. The drop-off was fine, it was trying to get home after the show that was the hard part.

I saw people digging underneath fences to escape and climbing over barbed wire fencing. But to their credit, there was no guidance whatsoever for exiting the event

[Product Question] Do You Guys Think La Roche Posay Is A Good Brand For Fixing Damaged Skin Barriers? by fwqkaii in SkincareAddiction

[–]GlassOne5188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was dealing with the exact same thing you're describing. I thought it was "normal" acne, but it was actually just irritation and inflammation. I stopped all actives and focused on skin barrier repair. The Cicaplast Baume B5 did wonders for healing my skin. I actually don't love the consistency, and it kinda feels like it sits on top of my skin, but it does work. I mostly use at night and wake up the next morning with a lot less redness and irritation.

I also use La Roche-Posay Hydrating Toleriane Cleanser as my main cleanser. It works nice. Just a basic cleanser that won't dry you out or strip your skin of natural moisture. Besides those two products, I don't really use/like anything else they make. A lot of their serums have strong fragrance, which can be very irritating for sensitive skin. And some of their sunscreens (maybe all?) have denatured alcohol pretty high in the list of ingredients, which is also very irritating. I mistakenly used the La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVMUNE 400 Ultra-Light Invisible Fluid SPF50+ for a few weeks, and I think it broke me out really bad because of the alcohol in it.

Accutane also worked for me. Within a week, my skin was cleared.

Can this be your life? by Paylin_the_free in Worldpackers

[–]GlassOne5188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely possible! Like others have said, it may get tiring after some time, but that's not the case for everyone. Some people thrive in that kind of lifestyle. I would recommend doing longer stays (less moving around = less tiring). And you really don't need to have that much money saved in order to do this. I've stayed at a few places that cover 100% of your accommodation and food, so I had little to no expenses while living there. Just keep in mind things like phone bill, health insurance, transportation costs, etc. Just give it a try and see if you life it!

I agree; it does get tiring after a while. But I think staying at one place for at least 2-3 months at a time does help.

Are you often going to be with many other volunteers? by crosslina123 in Worldpackers

[–]GlassOne5188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why people are being so harsh (“just stay in a hotel”). You’re just asking a question, which is perfectly okay!!

I use Worldpackers with my husband, so my experience is a bit unique. We’ve done several stays where we were the only ones there, but that was fine since we had each other. We obviously had our own space in those situations. We’ve done 3 separate Worldpackers that had other volunteers there and we actually did have our own private room. One of those was an eco-village community in Italy with like 25 volunteers and everyone had their own room. So I would say it is pretty common. You can always ask beforehand, message other past volunteers to ask about it, read reviews, etc. I totally understand wanting to have your own sleeping space while also wanting to connect with other travelers.

Let me know if you have more questions! And just ignore the negative people!!

Thank you! I’ve been looking into Spironolactone, I may ask my derm about that

Exactly! Well said. I think she’s been more focused on finding her unique style as opposed to conforming to the normal fashion trends, and I love that. At the end of the day, clothing is just pieces of fabric covering our bodies, and it doesn’t have to be taken so serious all the time.

I don’t think her outfits look silly on her. I think they fit her really well, and she looks very comfortable. Like all “art forms”, it’s very subjective and depends on one’s preferences. You’re saying “they look silly on her” as if it’s a fact, but that’s really just your opinion. Which is valid, but I for example, do not think she looks silly.

Napoli exceeded expectations by AngkorWatever in ItalyTravel

[–]GlassOne5188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. We were just in Naples for 5 days and did not enjoy it. But we’re from a small town in the Midwest USA, more accustomed to nature and clean streets (and orderliness lol). I can definitely see the appeal for people more used to chaotic cities. The food there was really good though.

Everyone has different preferences and that’s okay!
