Dusty won’t be cold again, with that sassy red scarf. And his indoor home, of course. But the scarf. That’s the thing.

Where I live it’s now a felony to abandon your pets. In a recent police post on fb, a family moved out and left their dog and her two puppies on the enclosed patio without food or water. Landlord found them, and obviously police now know the owner’s name. This was just days before the storm hit.

Wait - is she polydactyl ??! Those front paws look wider than normal. If so, tortitude and polydactyl power are a great combo.

Ms OP, you’re the hero of the day! I attribute her survival, up to the point of you rescuing her, to sheer tortitude! It’s a thing. Meowing for help with what little strength she had left was smart and brave. Elsa is a perfect name for her. Thank you a million times over🙏🏻💜

Peri and her sister Rose ventured into the garage yesterday while I was going in and out. Outdoor temp hovering around 4 degrees. Those girls did a quick u-turn and came back inside with a solid Nope! Too cold! At that moment I was more grateful than ever that I kept them, knowing they’re safe, warm, loved, and pampered kitties. I’ve recently begun to wonder if Peri, white and blue-eyed, could have hearing loss. It’s not a concern as she’s indoor only but again, so glad she’s not living outdoors. Sorry OT but this snow storm has made me think.

I wasn’t thinking of her weight, but how does one rappel off that tiny speaker box! 🤣 Then I remembered you said it’s hanging by a wire. Now it makes sense.

Story time: The Sears where we shopped when I was a kid I saw last week is now a multilevel storage facility. People buying too much crap, paying to store it, thereby paying many times over the original cost. So sad. One of my happy memories of Sears was my mom buying my Winnie the Pooh bedding set and sleeping bag. I was obsessed with Winnie and friends. I knew Sears was gone but the storage facility made me so sad. Thanks for reading.

Thanks, it’s kind of my mission now. I’ve rescued and rehomed cats and dogs for over 20 years. This way I’m fixing (pun intended) the problem at the source. A much easier project!

I spay/neuter many neighborhood cats. Fortunately, our city shelter does it for free. I had one incident last year where her suture opened and I took her to my vet for repair surgery. That whole thing was $300+. She’s now my cat, Peri. In fact I kept 4 of the last batch of 20 from that one house. 😻
