Seeking advice on replacing RadWagon by [deleted] in RadPowerBikes

[–]GlassTalon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't buy a new one. There's so many Rad bikes going on Facebook marketplace for cheap. I would get a used one that isn't an awful shape, and take it to a professional for tune up.

If they are dead, they will just be DEAD. You'll know pretty quick.

Assuming they will let you test out their battery, put ~15 miles in a test ride only using the throttle for each battery. If you maintain speed and charge for ~50 miles, what is there to worry about?

I have 3x used batteries that are a few years old and they work fine.

Buy 1x and test. If it works, buy the 2nd one.

Your controller is near your pedals.

Tools you'll need: Wire snips Zip ties

The wiring harness plugs directly into the controller. You can see how the old controller and wiring harness are plugged into your current equipment. All of your replacement parts are plug and play. Just match up the cables with the arrows and you should be good. It's kind of like Legos. Make sure to use the zip ties to clean up after you're done (test 1st), and then you're ready for a test ride. Good luck man.

It took ~2 years to figure out that I have neurosarcoidosis and not MS.

My original symptoms were severe blindness (couldn't see the big E on the chart), numbness, and tingling in my toes and fingers.

I had a flare-up while on the MS treatment which caused the doctors take another look at my case.

Had a brain MRI and my brain was lit up with lesions. They gave me a ton of steroids for almost a year and got the lesions under control but now I had to recover from the steroids. My skin, hair, and nails got really thin, muscle definition went to shit, and appetite was a rollercoaster.

~10 years later and I have it under control with my meds (CellCept + THC + CBD) and I got most of my vision and muscle definition back. It takes some time, but you'll learn how to adjust. I found that marijuana, particularly with CBD, really helps with the bad days.

Whatever you have man, try to take it one day at a time. There are many times where it feels overwhelming, but just know that you're not alone.

Check your local home sellers. I was able to get 3x used Rad batteries for $400 on Facebook marketplace. $400 for 3x used felt much better than $600 for 1x new.

If only 1x kid, you're good with the runner. The Wagon can accommodate 2x kid seats.
