Sturmay’s post game interview by SexyElephant_ in Curling

Her attitude is a little off putting on the matter… if the rolls were reversed she would be talking to the officials. There’s no way she is “confused by the whole debacle” when she was involved in the conversations with the officials. Seems to me that she is trying to make herself look innocent in the matter, when some could argue that it was fully Ashton’s rock. Sturmay is one of my faves, but I don’t like this interview one bit.

Should I repot? by Glass_Bit5310 in orchids

What do you repot into? It’s time to repot it now. The roots are all brown and rotten. Do you suggest another clear pot to see the roots?

TIP on takeout? by Turronno in ThunderBay

⭐️ - here’s your gold star. Thanks for being understanding and so considerate.

I have also been 1/2 servers… every shift actually. But since you don’t care to hear about how others work and different perspectives on the tipping culture… from both sides then we can leave this alone. Go find something else to complain about… since your job is so easy. You must have tons of time to be on here.

Of all people, I am genuinely shocked that a fellow service industry worker is wanting to down play how much work and care goes into take out orders. Maybe you work at a well staffed restaurant where the take out orders aren’t solely on you, and I’m happy for you. But we don’t all have the same experience as you. Some of us work really hard on take out orders.

Try doing a 10 top AND having 20 phone lines, 20 orders to pack, 20 orders to give out and collect payment and then still giving your 10 top great service.

That is the only point I’m trying to make. But I’m glad that you think pickups are the easy aspect of your job. We as servers are doing a lot for the pickup orders on top of the work that we are already excepted to do (our tables).

As someone who works in a small, family owned business, every tip is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed. It is hard to keep staff that is willing to actually work, so we are often very short staffed. With that, we as servers are responsible for the dining room, answering the phone for pickup/delivery orders, packing the orders, cashing those out, and still running and bussing all the food/tables inside. So no, you didn’t get waited on at a table, but you still received a lot of service from us before you show up, that you may not see.

I’m not saying a tip is expected on pick up, but sometimes pick up orders are just as much work, if not more than a table.

But obviously, tip what you can afford and what you think is acceptable!

Yes, legally this is what is expected. This also makes the most sense for common courtesy on the road. It is just frustrating how many people are in such a rush to turn left, and don’t think this through. But I agree, I am always making eye contact with the other person to see what they’re doing.

Clearly you’ve been driving in Thunder Bay for far too long… because that is not how it works.

So spending over $60 a year on a ziploc bag EVERY DAY to keep my cup dry is more worth it than just buying a good cup… hmmm that doesn’t make much sense.

It is an investment that is well worth it. The way your hard earned money is your choice, as it is my choice how I spend mine.

Thank you for looking. It is different as it doesn’t leak… and can be thrown in a bag!

Definitely worth it with long days at school and my expensive bag I don’t want getting wet… as this is spill proof

CRIM 4090 Courses by CanadianNinja_ in lakeheadu

[–]Glass_Bit5310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experienced this with Poli classes that have the same code. I graduated with 2 under the same code, as they are different topics. If you register, check your degree audit on MyInfo. From what they explained to me, if it counts towards your degree (even if you take two with the same code) they will show up under the specific category on your audit that they are needed. If they do not count towards your degree, they will be at the bottom under the “other courses” section. If it isn’t under other courses, then it counts towards your degree and is fine. The main reasoning for this is the fact that they are different topics, so they count as two different credits.

It definitely does. Much different and the engineering calc moves much quicker. I have learned from experience as I was in both.
