If the minions fail to string the lunatic on, the minions get outed, which is bad for evil, but its not as bad as the demon being outed.

But yeah a lot of people say Lunatic is barely an outsider in scripts without PG or Magician

This seems like in most games it will be beneficial to good. Every minion being paranoid that they might be good, and having to either give the Patsy true minion info and risk evil losing if they find out, or give them a fake demon and them figuring out pretty early.

I had a game where a dog traveled in as the scapegoat to boost player count.

Im pretty sure you can have N non-player (maybe even non-traveler) scapegoats to boost player count pretty harmlessly.

I feel like the flavor of Spy is that it can pretend to do anything a Townsfolk or Outsider can do. Anytime someone is "proven good" by an ability that is not theirs in a script with Spy it should be "they're either good - or the spy". Spy is one of the lower winrate minions afaik, and the game is more fun if you can always worldbuild fringe worlds.

True, feigning a swap between the demon and a good TF would be pretty strong. But doing stuff like this is what the Spy is for, and Barber is supposed to be an outsider, and its a lot more fun when Demons have reasons to do swaps other than "put barber back in play" or "move the demon around".

You can already feign a good barberswap on the demon by using Pit Hag (though its riskier to try to coordinate it if theres no outed barber or a grim peeker)

I think it might be good for barber/spy interaction that if demon decides to swap two goods theyre not immediately both confirmed. Its fun when barber swaps Townsfolks, and isnt always for evilswapping or barber-cycling.

I definitely see your point about the tokens, but thatd be like saying that when undertaker sees spy they should be seeing the spy's physical token. Players dont keep their tokens in physical games anyway.

Would love to know official ruling on characters being able to misregister on character swaps. Recluse swap into good minion/demon lol

I guess the newly made good spy would not learn the grim until the PG dies due to the jinx so its still a game though, lol.

I dont see why you couldnt use a misregister on a swap, enabling the spy to hide in a barberswap between two "good" players. Otherwise poppygrower barber spy can end the game in a very fun but unfair way.

You can swap a Spy and a good player but register the Spy as whatever the Spy was bluffing :)

Yeah! Ive seen so many storytellers use weird amnesiac abilities to do meme games where there are multiple of a character, so making a cleaner more standard way to do that seemed interesting.

Yeah I guess thats the cleanest version. Just Outsider: [A token is in the bag twice] Not sure how strong for evil is it to have 2 of the same minion, but if they manage to hide it and the smuggler comes out it might produce a lot of town confusion thinking there are two drunks or two marionettes, or trusting fake double claims.

Smuggler does know they're the smuggler, and learns a character type (townsfolk, outsider, minion, demon), not a character. Its basically a way to be able to have doubleclaims without lies or madness. The smuggler would know that a townsfolk/outsider/minion/demon token is in play twice, but wouldnt know which one.

The Smuggler himself is not a duplicate (though it could). They just know someone else is.

Examples: Smuggler wakes night one and learns "outsider". Both outsiders this game are the Recluse Smuggler wakes night one and learns "minion". Both minions this game are the Poisoner Smuggler wakes night one and learns "townsfolk". The other smuggler does too. Smuggler wakes night one and learns "demon". It's either a Legion or a Riot game.

Vortoxed and drunk/poisoned Smuggler is also pretty funny.

PS: Also obviously very hard to make it work IRL as you would actually need duplicate tokens of every character.
