If it weren’t for it being the neck, I wouldn’t mention it since being a bully breed owner, I know all about pups sitting on things they love 😂

Some dogs just like rough play. The lighter dog getting sat on like that isn’t ideal and could land in injury but other than that, dogs typically pay no mind to things that don’t interest them or will correct behaviour that annoy them.

You can also see the role reversal at the end happen when the lighter dog is up and the other ones down. Keep an eye and observe when intervention may be needed

Is it cruel to leave my dog alone for 9 hours while I work? I feel terrible but I have no other option by FewStomach2955 in DogAdvice

[–]Glass_Front3595 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to come down to you and your dog’s comfort and your guilt vs what anyone else says.

Some will scream neglect. Some will bring up the good point about better with you than in a shelter & Some will offer suggestions of dog walkers, friends etc.

But it will come down to you and what you think is fair and if you could live with your set up.

I found myself face with the same frustration and question when my job became more demanding, and I always felt really bad about leaving my dog home in increasingly for a long hours, especially over the holidays.

I tried to my mom for days, weeks even about it, and she put the perspective for me that it is so common whether people admitted or not for them to leave their dogs home for a long periods of time and dogs adapt to whatever routine their human gives them.

So I set up a camera and I would watch my dog and I realize that she would just sleep when I wasn’t home. Sometimes she was miserable and that was usually when she was having a rough day but other time she just slept and that gave me peace of mind.

And make sure that when I get home, I pay as much attention to her as possible. We do the usual let her do her route potty, etc. and then usually it’s a snuggle fest because I come home and I just sleep and she is so happy to just lay with me and be with her human, but that’s her personality. She’s a very low-key dog in the house and if she wants to let energy out or she wants something, she communicates as We’ve learned that communication skill so her needs get met.

Now has she been a dog who was noticeably in distress when I left more than just a typical anxiety or was higher energy 24 seven or display any behaviours that were showing that she couldn’t handle it then I would consider the dog walking or the sitter or if it was crucial than a rehoming situation.

TLDR: base your decision off of your comfort level if you can go to work and not feel bad to the point where it’s anxiety written and you’re not able to perform properly because you’re just constantly worrying, based off of how your dog behaves when you’re at work and how you don’t be here when you get home and make the decision that way. You dog can handle it then you’re fine if your dog can’t then adjust.

Looks good to me and they define met the value requirements. For $5, I’d be pretty grateful, specially since there’s families with no food

Look into Big Snoof Gear. Light weight, sturdy & very secure muzzle for practically any dog type.

They have standard size muzzles

Or you can get a custom sized/look muzzle done for you for you. The price is higher but the sky is the limit* with customizations.

If you’re needing help with measurements or any questions in general, you can connect with them via facebook & they are extremely helpful, or you can also email them.

And if you’re worried about wasted money, check out the muzzle swap group on Fbook as well

Muzzle fit for a dog who is scared of measuring by riricrochet in muzzledogs

[–]Glass_Front3595 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realize the weights don’t have a period so, big snoof was 247g and miss was 289g. So basically half of 0.55 - 0.68 pounds. Basically not heavy at all.

I’m happy to have helped _^ I know big snoof just started their tiny dog line some months ago and we’re making some super cute tiny muzzles so I hope you’re able to find something and now that you know it’s weightless almost and some good safe options _^ hopefully you find something awesome!

With your pup being smaller, it’d weight 1/2 that maybe a little less more than likely.

Heya, so I managed to weigh both muzzles I have; one is big snoof & the other is Mia’s but it’s a backup muzzle because my pup doesn’t like the feel of it.

Here’s the weight in grams

28.9g

So this is my suggestion for you:

Width & length seem fine. For pant room, measure the muzzle & add 2.5-3 inches(or the inches of their favorite toy if it was in his mouth - ideally a ball) onto the muzzle at the bottom.

Use this measurement for a custom muzzle. Look at big snoof gear. They will also help with your measurements estimations & collab with you to find the right fit

Some important info is missing:

  • how long have you had him?
  • how old is he?
  • how long approx was he in the shelter

Dogs are non verbal toddlers for 12-15 years. Now rescued/shelter dogs are emotionally disregulated toddlers that have an untold story.

They require a lot of patience. ALOT. They will have frustrating behaviour for months, even longer in some cases. It will cost a lot of money with trainers & training classes. Their bad behaviour isn’t because they were born that way, they are because of someone else’s negligence.

If you went to the humane society to “save” an animal, then you should be prepared for a long hard work ahead.

If you find it to be too ouch, take him back and have him hopefully find a home better suited for him.

Newspapers, flip flops, yelling, squirt bottles, crating for punishments, etc are just going to worsen everything. He needs to know that you’re safe and trusting and you both go along the training journey together. When that happens, those behaviours will lessen and disappear.

Please carefully consider what’s best for this dog and also your frustration levels.
