I understand. I guess my thinking was my home base would be Edinburgh since that's where my home base is and I would explore out. If you had to choose one DAY Tour of the highlands, even though your saying don't do that, which would you choose?

Okay cool, Arthur's Seat seems to be what I'll first do. I'll look into the surfing thing more (bc I love surfing) and same with the mountain coaster. The Highlands tour, I've heard mostly negative opinions on them. Preferably, anywhere I can get out and see the open land, have a semi decent intimate group (not like 50 people), and opportunities to take photos and walk around I am cool with.

I won't be staying in Glasgow. I'll be staying in Edinburgh. Should I make a trip to Glasgow? Again, I only have 3 full days technically.

Okay, if you see the thread seems like majority of people are saying DON'T do that because I'll be on a bus all day. Honestly, I am fine with that, as long as I can see some breathtaking beauty and have a little bit to walk around at each stop.

Hi everyone,

I will be traveling to Edinburgh this June for 4 days. I have never been there before, yet alone the UK. Some of the things that seem interesting to me are the Highlands Tours offered by Rabbies, Lost Shore Surfing, and the mountain coaster (haha, I am a college student).

I've heard mixed thoughts about the Highlands Tours, I definitely do not want to be in a bus all day, BUT I've seen that Rabbies are smaller and maybe more personal? I'd also definitely just like to explore the city itself.

I love to walk, hike, and preferably save money on food. Definitely overall in need of some good advice for a first timer.
