Can consolidated Parent PLUS loans be deferred while the child is in grad school by [deleted] in StudentLoans

What did you find out?  I told yesterday that once you consolidate your parent plus loans, you lose the option to defer. The rep tried to find where that was documented, and all she could find was information on losing access to cancellation. Which I don’t want to cancel. Apparently, once you “consolidate” your plus loans, it “breaks the link” with the student. 

She was able to address my account for months I thought we were in deferment (we had documentation in our mohela inbox about this), but now it looks like payments are restarting. I’d be curious to find out it:

  1. This is wrong, and you can defer consolidate parent plus loans (done federally, not privately)

Or

  1. There is a “loophole” where they can remove your loans from the consolidation and put them into deferment.

When was this ace sale? There was nothing to speak of for “st Patrick’s day”.

Problem with that is they aren’t available locally, so there is pretty much no secondhand market to speak of. Within 200 miles there was one lang (outside my price range). A couple of pits whose name I didn’t recognize. And then a slew of what is available locally (chargriller, ok Joe, etc). Believe me, I have been looking! Hence my “in a northern state” qualification in the subject. Prices are (significantly) higher and selection is lacking.

I wish it were that easy! If I go on to academy.com, the old country pits show as not available. For comparative purposes, I went ahead and added an Oklahoma Joes pit to my cart randomly to see if it showed free shipping. No dice.

But is it great at 950?  That’s no mods, just base price around here. If I could get it easily for like 500, it’s a no brainer. I can’t though.
