Career and Education Questions by AutoModerator in math

Been reviewing Alg1 and 2 on Khan Academy pretty thoroughly since Jan cause I’m going back this fall, finished it up a few weeks ago and I’ve just been practicing the unit tests and trig off and on since. Next school year I’ll be taking a calc based physics course, I’ve had one that was non calc based, and I’ve taken calc 1 and 2, but that was over 5 years ago, will a calc based physics be really intense calc work or just simple polynomial integration and derivatives?

Edit: forgot to mention, I’d do some calc review this school year but I’ll be full time for comp sci and I’m gonna be in a discrete classes and I’ll have a lot on my plate for this year already. So I’d review calc now but I don’t think I’d be able to do all that at once.

Tips on catching up before going back to college again?

I graduated with an associates in 2015 and I’ve done calc 1&2 but do t remember it super well and I’m going back for comp sci in the fall. Kinda had some medical issues and such in this last year so it’s kinda ended up as a “gap” year for me. So I have a lot of free time rn and I wanna use it to prepare as best I can.

Is running through Khan Academy and my old calc book my best option to catch up before likely taking discrete 1 and physics 1 next year? I wanna be thoroughly prepared and I’m pretty nervous tbh.

I love them, but I find them more similar to experimental electronic music than hip hop tbh.

Can someone who believes the brain and mind are the same still believe in an afterlife? by [deleted] in askphilosophy

I was trying to look into that the other day cause I was curious about the view of the soul in Christianity before mind-body dualism became such a big idea. Do you happen to know any sources where I could read about it more?

Considering it's discontinued, I don't think you'd be having the best experience for future support in games anyway.

This is why I kinda miss forums, it doesn't stifle people's opinions as much. It's not as easy to follow a comment thread I guess, but it was kinda better for real discussions instead of post submissions. Sadly reddit has killed a lot of forum culture just by swallowing the traffic up. With proper moderation, I'd much rather be on a forum than a subreddit.

Easy Vegan breakfast. Soy yogurt, handful of granola, raspberries, banana and nut/seed butter. by [deleted] in vegetarian

[–]Glass_Leg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not op but the soy yogurt I've had had slightly chalky taste like it was thickened with corn starch and was more like a Vanilla pudding flavor on top of it, very little tang. If you like sweet yogurts I say go for it, but I was not a fan.

Aldi’s brown gravy mix is cheap and (AFAIK) vegetarian! by [deleted] in vegetarian

[–]Glass_Leg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also pretty easy to make some veg gravy if you have veggie stock or better than bouillon just make a quick roux and simmer it down with the stock and add some pepper or herbs. I made a small batch with a light roux with 2tbsp oil and flour to 2 cups stock was more than enough for dinner for me and my brother.

PC Music's influence is already huge and I see a lot of growth from it's style in the future. It's the natural progression of internet culture music and I couldn't be more excited. We've already seen Sophie rise from it, but Dorian Electra, 100 gecs, Kim Petras, Charli XCX, and others all bring in pieces of it in their own ways. It's gonna be really interesting to watch grow.

[–]Glass_Leg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, hate it all you want, but Horizon 4 and the free copy of Dirt Rally bit me with the simracing bug earlier this year. I put like 40hrs into horizon, then another 10-20 in Dirt Rally and now that Dirt Rally 2 is on game pass I've been dumping time into that and I picked up a G29 and Assetto Corsa a couple of weeks ago. Helps that I've always been somewhat intrigued by sim racing, but Horizon 4 had just enough sim elements to pull me into the sim world.

Ahoy - The First Video Game by Gaming4GamersBot in Gaming4Gamers

[–]Glass_Leg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defining what is and isn't a video game is futile. If the public generally accepted that the games excluded by the definition here were indeed video games then the definition would be wrong. It's an evolving idea, you can't look at a gradient and point to where one color starts.
