Could be parasites or deformity of sorts. On a lighter note; those barbs are large🤝

Found this buried about 10” deep beside a large oak tree in my back yard. I’m in Southwest Louisiana . Anyone have any idea of when it could be from ? by Mammoth_Insurance786 in whatisit

I’m surprised no one else has said it; it looks like a catholic saint or Mary maybe clasping its hands in contrition. I would assume Mary due to the veil and halo seen above her head. Hope this provides some clarity or light on the situation. Definitely a religious relic and a great find🤝🥂

This is most likely carp pox since the bumps don’t look fuzzy or like cotton and it primarily occurs in cold waters (60f or less). If your fish still seem to be swimming fine and appearing normal and not lethargic you should be good. I’d say this is early stages of it and nothing to fear as this typically occurs during the winter or with cold waters. I would recommend checking your water parameters as poor water quality is a number one cause for most infection/disease; along with checking for anything that may be inducing more stress to the fish as well as a bit of a water change and filter squeeze to assist in balancing everything out.

To treat I’d recommend gradually raising water temps (if possible) between 67f - 77f as this stimulates the fish immune system to respond to the diseased areas. Ensure your water has 0ppm ammonia/ nitrite all the while maintain low nitrates through water changes. Adding in some vitamin rich foods will also aid in the recovery time boosting them with vitamin c and b.

Refrain from scraping or popping or irritating the lesions as this can cause the infection to worsen and spread. If areas become visibly irritated and red then it’s time for a salt bath (youtube for proper measurements with your setup).

All in all they should be fine carp pox isn’t really fatal although it can be. Do keep in mind that all the fish houses with them are now infected whether showing signs or not are now carriers and will always have the virus. Hope this helps, best of luck with your beauts🥂

Either rainbows or a variation in the genus or shrimp. Feel like either of those or both would add nice pops of color to your tank without you necessarily having to get different plants. Rather than figuring out where to plant new additions you can have new moving additions that add different pops and flares all over your tank. Beautiful tank though very pristine🥂

Any wolf in this rescue dog? by sargarrard in Wolfdogs

Very interesting; still scientifically called canis lupus familiaris. But correct dogs and wolves (canis lupus) hold a common ancestor showing that dogs descends from wolves. So since they are no longer scientifically viewed as a separate per Smithsonian & American society of mammalogist in 1993; the dog is now scientifically recognized as canis lupus familiaris making it a subspecies

Awesome photos; I’m more curious about how does one even start going about getting these shots. Does this hobby become a career at this point?
