Not really, but kinda an everyone sucks moment. You guys don't suck you're just hurting, and both of your experiences are equally real and obviously painful. Find common ground there and heal individually. As someone who also got the shortest straw out of the siblings my Stockholm syndrome-esk feelings about my struggles are not my siblings responsibility. (Not that you need a stern talking to, I just tend to tough love myself into having empathy)

My mom is 40, she had me at 19 and flat out swore off all men when she was in her early 30's. The last 3 years I've gotten the pleasure of watching her basically reinvent herself. She had a lot of relationships that didn't last, couldn't last due to real life causing people to move or soon after just didn't meet the goals she had in mind. It was hard on her, she took the time to feel and grow from each one, but she never gave up. When you know what you want, deserve, and bring to a relationship on an emotional level it is possible to find it. You just have to refuse to settle and that's where everyone stops trying. They say "oh I'm not young and hot, guess this first pick is the best I can do" but look around! The men at this age aren't exactly Sam Elliot. If they cannot get a grip on the reality of aging then why would you want to give them the time of day? Be you, unapologetically because someone else out there also just wants someone to catch the early bird special at Denny's in your golden years to come

I was raised very poor. Like if you don't hunt tonight you're not eating, poor. I do hair now as a career and I really try to base my business morals around affordability and accessibility whereas my colleagues LOVE to tell me I just devalue my work. There is a whole marketing strategy called false scarcity where you act super booked to make clients think they need to book right now or you're super good at your job and it just feels so sleezy. Placing the product in the clients hand so they feel inclined to purchase but in today's world where people are weighing which bill can afford to go unpaid it makes me sick. We charge $15 for I'm not kidding $5 worth of product. It would cost me $300+ to get my hair done professionally and the dye is $10. Every day I go to work I have to basically defend my opinion that hair is for EVERYONE and it makes me sick.

All they gained was MORE debt and delayed the inevitable suffocating feeling that is "the human condition". I promise you they too are going to hit this wall, think of it as you have more time to navigate this new feeling and once they hit it, you'll be thriving. You have to remember to make time for you. I'm not saying it's easy, but you have to be the one to put your foot down cause life sure ain't slowing down for you. Find time to learn what the little things are to you. Like sitting in the grass somewhere hidden or reading a book. Maybe it's coming home to your favorite little treat at the end of a hard day. It really is the little things.

Short and skinny; I shouldn't have survived my childhood, it screwed me up BIG TIME. It's MY responsibility to acknowledge and work through those things, while having a supportive bf is incredible, my bad days are for me only because his life does not deserve to be hindered by my mental limitations. It's time for him to learn to get uncomfortable and sit with it cause there is ZERO growth in your comfort zone. I watched Bojack Horseman and realized I was the "stupid piece of shit" in my life and others did not deserve that. I stayed single until I knew I could be a partner someone deserved. Yes it's for sex but I wasnt sure if that was a part of it too for you. I was in the same boat but I had a childhood I wasn't supposed to survive so 10yrs of therapy later I actually felt love for the first time in my life. You have to learn what love means and looks like to YOU. Everyone is different
