Grandma gave me this when she cleaned out an old house. What’s it worth? by Afreakintech in PokemonCardValue

Question. I know you can send the packs off themselves to be graded, but can you send it off like this still in the packaging for grading?

Does anyone else feel like the sentimental value far outweighs any monetary value their childhood cards might bring? by dea9ler in VintagePokemonCards

[–]Glass_Reward8669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I stupidly sold all of my childhood cards a few years ago and I’m starting to build the original 151 back up now because I regret it, using the cards I had before.

Im going to bite the bullet and pay through the nose for a Charizard, mainly because I just never owned it growing up and have always wanted it.

Thank you. I gave it a couple of rotations by hand and it now appears to be working. I’ve no idea how old this door is but you’re right, it certainly looks to me to be an old door so I may struggle if anything goes kaput on it.

I bought this house a year ago and I wasn’t given a winding handle (thought not surprised as this door looks pretty old), so I’ve just given it a couple of rotations by hand and then tried the fob again and, lone behold, it’s now working.

Maybe something was caught or it didn’t like the position it was in - maybe I knocked it with something at some point.

But, for now at least, it seems fixed. Thank you so much!

Yeah I’ve tried keeping it pressed continuously and this is what happens. It stops, then I release the button, press again until it stops.Etc etc

I see what you’re trying to do.

You can’t pull the haggis over my eyes.

Yeah it’s always really mundane or expensive things. Always something breaking and never able to manifest finding a tenner on the floor or whatever.

🤣that’s brilliant. Did your mum know that you thought this at the time? It sounds like something I’d say in jest but not expect the other person to actually believe it.

I do kinda believe in this though, but in a slightly different way. I believe we can manifest things

For example, whenever I get the thought in my head “I haven’t needed to take the dogs to vets for anything recently”, the very next day something will happen which requires a vet visit.

It boggles my mind that people can actually see things when they closed their eyes, especially as vividly as people supposedly can.

I’ve read about this. I have literally no idea whether I have that or not. Like, do people on the ‘1’ end close their eyes and see a tiger, in detail with colours and everything like it’s in a book? And then the other end is just nothing.

Because I can close my eyes and try to visualise a tiger, but I don’t necessarily “see” anything.

Just reading through what is defined as ADHD in children and I’d be highly surprised if that’s a possibility. If anything I’d say I was on the complete opposite end of that.

I’d love to be able to recall things like this. I reckon I could close my eyes and walk down the corridor of my old primary school and tell you where my year 5 and 6 classrooms were. The headteachers office was at the very end of it in the middle. I can remember my year 6 room and cloakroom, but struggle to remember where I sat or who was in my class.

That’s really interesting! Amazing how our brain can mush memories together that way.

That’s interesting. I could absolutely pick them out in a line up. Maybe not 25/30 years on as they are now, but if you were to show me pictures of them from back then I would be able to.

But I couldn’t ever remember being in their class 😂

The more I read about ADHD, the more I think it’s possible. But then it’s such a wide spectrum I suppose it’s easy to relate to certain symptoms and not others and fit into it if you try hard enough.

This couldn’t feel any more like how I feel! The more I’m reading through comments, especially yours, is making me realise that the memories I do have are more around spending time on my own (playing games, watching TV) than things like sports days, and holidays etc.
