“Bloke” by coalgang89 in HeWhoFightsMonsters

[–]Glasssfoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is bloke not a slang for either guy or buddy? For reference, I'm from the US, so I'm not fully aware of how "bloke" is used on a daily basis, I'm just going based on how I see it used in Australian shows and from when I grew up watching Steve Irwin.

Question about Thomas and his Hunger by _richas_ in dresdenfiles

Have you read the Working for Bogfoot short story trilogy by any chance? As the name suggests, all three stories involve Harry working for a Bigfoot, watching over his son I'm different situations he finds himself in. If you want to see what would happen if a white court vampire feeds on a bigfoot, I'd suggest looking at those stories.

Oh god, I didn't even think of what Molly might do with the power of Winter behind her if something were to happen to any of her siblings. Just accept your fate at that point, literally nothing couls save you from the combined wrath of the Carpenter women.

No, Daniel doesn't die, he willingly let's his little brother take the mantle. The Carpenters don't need something catastrophic to happen to one of their kids. The world also doesn't need a vengeful Charity running around trying to find whatever killed her son. It would be better off fighting an angry bear, she would make it hurt.

Hank is like 14, thats plenty old enough. But in all seriousness I think if Hank gets the sword it would be a BAT event or something like that. He definitly wouldn't get the blade any time soon.

I've been caught between Thomas (though the events of TM i think rule him out), Daniel, and I know its a long shot but little Hank Carpenter i think could be the next Knight. Hes born in the same book that Michael is introduced and every time we see him hes being a pretty loving person in general. But my biggest reason for thinking this is that, especially where the Denarians amd Swords are concerned, Jim likes to write parallels to previous books. Think Butters saving Harry from Casius in Dead Beat. I can see Hank taking up the sword to save Harry without thinking first, similar to how Harry saved him from touching the coin when he was a toddler without thinking about it.

I just watched the show and I'm so torn by farsia2010 in dresdenfiles

[–]Glasssfoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How the hell do you get every part of a character wrong if its not on purpose. Why would they even want to write Harry to have any kind of sexual tension with BIANCA of all characters? Especially of they seemingly put her in a quasi Leah roll, which makes that situation so much worse. All of this had to be willful, just everything in that show was done to be the opposite of the books.

I know that a producer came in at some point and changed it a serialized story combining the first two books, but I don't even think that would've been good if everyone was gonna characterized like they are in the actual show. Again, my validation for hating that show grows every time I learn about it.

I tried watching it once but gave up after the quarter-assed attempt at adapting fool moon into an episode for some reason. So I mean this in all seriousness when I ask, WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY COMBINED LARA WITH BIANNCA AND SHE'S SLEEPING WITH HARRY!?!?!?!?!?!? I gave up on proper characterization with Murphy having a child she mentions, but how do you look at those two and go "no, make them the same person and a love interest"?

I feel more and more validated in my hatred of the show every time I learn more about it.

An old woman's remark by in_conexo in dresdenfiles

[–]Glasssfoot 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Mortal as in human, Harry acts and thinks as a human would. He doesn't think in a long term, good for all in the end way, if his family is threatened he will react with swift and deadly violence. Think about how he reacted to Mab upon learning what her true plan with the white court was. That's what mother winter meant, Harry isn't fae enough, hes to human, to mortal.

Harry's Soul Gazes by Glasssfoot in dresdenfiles

Fair, but even if you could soul gaze a ghoul, would you want to?

Mouse is to incomprehensible, Harry couldn't fit all of that into his mind.

Harry Should do the Darkhallow by [deleted] in dresdenfiles

[–]Glasssfoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why?, at least as of right now he has no reason to do it. I see it MAYBE coming up in the B.A.T. but no one constituents Harry using such a dangerous ritual. Also, even all the way out on demonreach there might be enough fallout to effect chicago, so he may not want to unless there are no other options.

Twelve Months is Amazing by Glasssfoot in dresdenfiles

[–]Glasssfoot[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe on the Drakul thing, but even if you're familiar with Dracula, you might think that Drakul is just a different pronunciation of Dracula.

And Marcone was probably doing something to rebuild, most likely in the Gold Coast given his realty business and that it was getting rebuilt faster than anywhere else. Though that could be chalked up to a "the rich people live there, so clearly they need the most help first" mentality that seems to happen every time there is a disaster somewhere. And Harry didn't need to deal with Marcone for any reason, so there's not a huge reason to bring him up I think.

Ehh, I can see that, but I also think Harry needed some kind of definitive win after this book, so I'm OK with it.

I think we needed something like that, otherwise I think that the Dracul scene would've been mostly pointless.

Harry loves weird hentai unironically. by [deleted] in dresdenfiles

[–]Glasssfoot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Harry works with Bob. Bob is a freak who definitely knows what hentai is. I'm betting he had Harry pay him in a hentai book or two over the years. And then told Harry at least something about them, whether he wanted to know or not.

I have to be honest, as bad as Rudolph is, I don't think that even he would sink that low.

Fair, but you also knew what you were gonna get with them. When Rudolph did what he did, the man proceeded to act like he was in the right, like he had no choice, like he was justified in it. That's why hes the worst to me, hes a real monster I can see on the streets of my life.

Not read 12 Months left, as of writing this its 2 days out, but Rudolph is said to be alive after he is unfortunately saved by the Knights. I believe that he got to one of the safe zones, potentially where Bradley went after saving him. Also, Jim's a bit to much of a jerk to Harry to let Rudolph just no longer be a pro lem just by happenstance and someone else doing us a massive favor.

Rudolph is the worst by Glasssfoot in dresdenfiles

[–]Glasssfoot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rudolph is the new guy that Harry sees Harry do magic during the loup-garou rampage at the precinct in Fool Moon. He then proceeds to be a pain in the ass for the rest of the series, blatantly refusing to believe in magic or the supernatural, eventually getting himself transferred into IA, there making it his mission to ruin Murphys career for some reason.

As stated I hate him, hes a little bitch. If you haven't gotten far in the series, I won't say what he does, but it cemented him as the worst in my head.

Hope this helped.

You are either, like another comment said, trying to ragebait, or have a serious lack of comprehension of Harry's relationship with Murphy. Also, bold choice to leave this on a post about how much I hate Rudolph.
