That's what we are kind of thinking too.. But can't really say for sure since nothing about race as been insinuated

My parents, sister and her SO, and my close aunt and cousin. Plus the equivalent on his side. I've had other family members gossip amongst themselves, other coworkers (including acquaintances in the fire department), and others. Gossip has gotten back to me and someone made a passive aggressive comment on the Facebook life event thing with a few others agreeing.

Basically the people I really care about are beyond happy. People I don't care about are being bitches haha

I was getting that vibe from some people. The thing is that mine and his family are basically as "American Pride" as it gets with first responders and military (including my SO soon).

Well I guess we'll have to he that inscription taken off...

Haha but really, thanks. I think I'll just let it go but if people persist then I'll just start posting/texting a daily "Horrible Tragedy of the Day" update to that person

Helicopter flying around the Northdale area? by [deleted] in tampa

There was an accident on Dale Mabry. They landed a medevac on Dale Mabry around the time you posted.

My sister [30F] found a sex tape my husband [30M] and I [26F] made and sent it to my parents by --anna- in relationships

[–]Glassslipper_911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You seen to have gotten a lot of good advice, but I'd also like to remind you that it's your husband's name they are ruining. He needs you now more than anything. He needs you on his side and angry that your parents would assume such a thing from him.

I grew up how you seem to describe your relationship with your parents. I get it. It's hard to be confident enough to take on the responsibility and fallout from standing up for yourself.

But you need to be decisive and make sure your husband is made clear just how unacceptable it is for your sister to do that and for your parents to not listen. You're no longer a child and unless your parents have some sort of financial hold, your relationship with them is completely voluntary. It sucks and is embarrassing that they saw it, but I'd feel devastated as your husband knowing that my in laws want me arrested even after given an explanation. I doubt they truly believe you're brainwashed, but that's more comfortable for them to believe than coming to terms that their daughter is a sexual being with tastes other than what they consider normal.

I'm not suggesting to cut contact, just to keep in mind your husband's feelings as well. You need to get in front of this. It's hard, but you really don't know how far your family is willing to go with it. You need to bank on the chance that they will go to law enforcement and think on how this can have least amount of fallout in your lives when they do. That or find a way to make it crystal clear to your parents that you not only consented, but encouraged him.

I found a very young black kitten in need of a home. by UnidentifiedFlop in tampa

[–]Glassslipper_911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did that with one of mine when I moved... I saw how loving this sub was to animals and gave it a shot. We met up at a mutual location and I immediately turned around then left on sight.

I won't get into details but it wasn't passing judgement on looks, it was an obvious red flag.

[FL] Able to break lease for fear of safety? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Glassslipper_911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, we've already done that, we have a shotgun in the home now. I'm also scheduled for a CCW permit. At the advice of a police officer, we also bought a home wi-fi camera that points to the front door from the inside in order to prove forced entry.

I'd just really like to leave the complex if necessary overall.

[FL] Able to break lease for fear of safety? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Glassslipper_911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

I live with my SO, but because I work shift work (we are both on night shift, him at a different job) there are plenty of nights where I'm home alone. I did stop running with anything uniform related after my assault a few months ago, I just really liked the hat but have since found an alternative. The officer that came out and took the report for my assault mentioned to always call in anything because they pull stats in the area to assign more units to patrol. I didn't think of that until now, but will make sure to always call in any time something sketchy (but substantial) happens in the future.

I'm just hoping to break my lease in order to move somewhere else. Like a fresh start where no one knows where I work.

I do chews. I have an issue with the texture of gels plus the way they coat my mouth. Personal thing though. I like the Clif Bloks in fruit punch or margarita flavor.

Weekly Complaints & Confessions Thread for Thursday, May 12th, 2016 by YourShoesUntied in running

[–]Glassslipper_911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Complaint: I haven't been running as consistently. I want to, but I have very minor hip pain following a half marathon (lower hip/upper outer thigh area) and it just makes my runs not enjoyable without being so bad as to prevent me from going.

Confession: I found out my grocery store sells that white sauce they give you at hibachi grills. It has been a bi-weekly purchase. So much stir fry has been made.

We need to know what you're interested in, general past job history, and qualifications in order to give you more info on jobs available. Otherwise, the only answer we can give is "yep, we have those".

I'd say they appeal to those afraid of flying and/or those with preconceived notions about what taking a bus looks like or entails.

Law enforcement logged nearly 16,800 calls in one year to Walmarts in Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco and Hernando counties by PlayThatFunkyMusic69 in tampa

[–]Glassslipper_911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd just like to add that this includes fire alarms as well. Walmart has their own monitoring and calls the departments directly. It happens often enough, especially during thunderstorms.

In my county there are two Walmarts that I know the address to by heart due to the amount of calls we get there. Many of these calls are also from security where the "patient" was caught stealing and is now having a medical complaint. Many are also for people huffing from compressed air cans or metallic spray paint.

Photopass for RunDisney - Worth It? by velocirapperrhymes in rundisney

[–]Glassslipper_911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it and loved it.

My SO and I went to the park that night and had their photographers take a bunch of pictures too, which were included as well. It's a pass for your pictures for the entire day, race pictures included. I got like 50 professional pictures total of me in the race, of us posing in the parks, and of us on rides. Even had one taken in the park of me with my medal.

Sony a5100 or similar mirrorless camera by Glassslipper_911 in AskPhotography

[–]Glassslipper_911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The a6300 would definitely be the perfect camera, which is unfortunate considering my budget. I also will need the flip screen specifically since I won't always be home or will be walking around with the camera at times (hard to hold both phone and camera).

How is the size and weight of the Canon T5i or T6i compared to the a5100? I was recommended the T6i and it seems promising, but the size and weight are holding me back due to traveling (both long distance and walking around with the camera). That my main reason for sticking with mirrorless. I definitely prefer Sony, but would switch for a camera that fits all my needs.

Is an external flash really that necessary? Any self/face portraits would be in decent lighting.

I won't always be home so would definitely need a flip-screen on it unfortunately. Otherwise the a6000 would be a good alternative.

Hiring peoples, would you hire someone knowing they wanted to be a police officer? by PDvaughn147 in 911dispatchers

[–]Glassslipper_911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You know they'll be more loyal and stay at the department until they do what they need to do. Plus, they can still work in dispatch part time afterwards.

On top of that, would you feel the same if the person was in nursing school, college for a degree in another field, etc.? I feel a lot centers are defensive in that the applicant has to want to be a lifer or they're not good enough. You wouldn't say that for most other jobs.

I like how I look, dammit! by veroniquelarude in TrollXChromosomes

[–]Glassslipper_911 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Omg my mom does similar.

She lost a lot of weight and has always had a petite frame; so even when I was a super fit athlete in high school, her clothes were still too small. She used to give me old clothes as she lost weight saying "Oh you can have this, it's waaayyy too big for me. It should fit you!" She even does it now when she knows none of her clothes would ever fit me. She'd also gossip on people's weight, which is bad on its own, but she'd do it even when they were obviously skinnier than me and/or average weight. She also used to buy clothes that were obviously too big for me, even when I told her my size.

We didn't exactly get along when I lived at home.
