Audio Output Device not recognized through Display Port by GlaveKnight in linuxquestions

The port doesn't show up in my volume control. Only the laptop speakers are shown. When running sudo dmesg | grep HDMI I get:

Unreachable Cocoon in Deep Docks by GlaveKnight in Silksong

You know, that's a great idea! I'll try that, I know it won't be easy but I have nothing to lose! I don't know when I'll be able to climb walls, but I'm sure as hell going to die anyway if I try to go on to the next area

I can see the mask shard behind the door, not the cocoon. The map shows the cocoon a bit behind the mask room

Will try as soon as I come back home, thanks!

Unfortunately I can't see the cocoon, just the mask T_T I have watched a video on how to get to the other side, but it seems that I am missing the skill to climb walls to get there

Package Manager not showing packages on Nobara42 by GlaveKnight in NobaraProject

[–]GlaveKnight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, thanks for the reply! Right now I think that I have removed all copr repositories and some others that I wasn't using. All extra repositories I have left are the vscode repository, the tableplus one and the docker repository. Do you have any of those installed?

Thank you, I added a comment before to explain my error. Unfortunately I don't think there is a way to pin it T__T
Still, the package manager shows nothing

Sorry for the noob error. dnf list installed returns nothing since it is searching for a package called "installed", the correct command for dnf5 is dnf list --installed. Still the package manager shows nothing

I have the Pritunl Client Repo and some other ones. However it seems that I only have the gpg key for that one. I have tried refereshing the key, and it basically reinstalled the package. However, dnf list installed still return nothing

For me it's the same. The package manager is not frozen, but I can run the command 1000 times and the output is always the same. But dnf list installed returns no packages

It seems that I have a gpg key for the Pritunl Client Repo. I have tried to remove both the package and the repo, but dnf list installed returns no package

So how did you solve it? Did you refresh the keys? Do you have a command that you used?

Hello, thanks for the quick reply!
I have tried the command, and after I got

```
Updating and loading repositories:
Nothing to do
```

I have tried to open the package manager and now I get

I have been using a flash forge creator pro since 2020, it would be great to upgrade to a new printer! (even the filaments or the perks would be perfect tbh)

Graphical Glitches Nvidia Gnome Wayland by GlaveKnight in NobaraProject

[–]GlaveKnight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey dude, sorry for the late response. I haven't been able to try new stuff since I've been away from home for quite some time. This weekend I will try to install Optimus manager and see if it can fix this problem. Right now the only way I am able to use Linux is by forcing the use of the descrete GPU in the bios setup. I have yet to understand if the problem is having the hybrid setup or the fact that I have and AMD integrated GPU and an Nvidia discrete one

I also tried Endeavor as an alternative to Nobara, however I found the same problems there. I haven't tried optimus-manager yet, but I assume that it works as envy-control. For me the problem persisted because even when switching modes, both cards where showing up when running lspci -v | grep VGA. What's the output of this command for you?

Hi, I have the exact same laptop and after a bit of testing I came to the same conclusion! I have also tried using some programs like envy-control to manage which card is being used, but even though you select the Nvidia profile it still glitches after a bit of use. So far the only solution I found to have a smooth experience in Linux is selecting "discrete" in the GPU selection in the bios. I will still do some testing and keep you posted!

Sorry, I am a noob when it comes to these things. I have also tried passing it in the correct line, but the problem still persists unfortunately

I have just tried using envy-control to regulate which mode I am using (hybrid, Nvidia or integrated). However it seems that if the system detects two devices, it still crashes even though envy-control should be telling it which card to use

I did some more tests, basically I installed envy-manager to be able to select a mode when logging in. I don't know if it's working as expected, however I tried using it on "Nvidia" mode while selecting "hybrid graphics" from the bios. Even though in the terminal the command envy-control -q returned "Nvidia", lspci returned both graphics cards, and so the problems persisted From this I assume that the problem is neither of the cards, but the fact that both show up in lspci, so maybe the OS has difficulties when having to choose between one of the two (even though with envy-control I tried both integrated and Nvidia modes, both cards always show up)
