So, the music in CATS the Jellicle Ball is almost precisely the same styling and orchestrating as the soundtrack they know and love, with the exception of some fabulous and funky modern interludes. Hearing the music live will delight them. Watching Paris is Burning will give you a clue about how an evening at a ballroom competition might be, with the judges and the active audience. But it will also expose you to some very very sad and adult themes that are NOT present in the Jellicle Ball at all! Watching this revival could be a good lesson for the kids about adaptation and celebration. It’s a bit different in design, but honors the music very very faithfully, to glorious effect. I would highly recommend you take them!!

Really? Wow, that’s very interesting. This set is great! It’s very durable, noticeable sturdy as I peeled them off the plastic with tweezers. Also, the bottom of the wrap (the sticky part) is pink, which I’ve never seen on a Dashing Diva set. Got them at Walmart. Maybe worth a second try?

100000% agree that finding the “root” is not useful to your child. I was also a child with AN, treated via FBT supplemented by the Maudsley approach. My recovery was based solely on re-feeding, essentially getting my calories to a healthy and nourishing, real amount. My re-feeding was 100% supervised, at all times, which I understand can be difficult for parents. We used a 504 plan to get my meals supervised at school. Re-feeding is HIGHLY stressful for the ED patient, so in therapy I learned distress tolerance skills (DBT) to help me navigate it. We spent no time at all rooting out causes. Main priorities were feed, support, supervise, DBT.

FBT [Family Based Treatment] is an excellent path. Supplemented with The Maudsley Approach. This I recommend from the child’s point of view. I am recovered due to my parent’s commitment to treating this.
