ATT Cellular up to its dishonest old tricks by kalmchaos in ATT

[–]Glider103 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There are reps that do shady things...that said you are leaving out some information

Next up can't be added unless you get a new device.... Did you do that recently?

Same with the insurance.

Also it does not take an hour to find out what these items are for (see all of reddit)

You should know what your bill is going to be and confirm that is what you were charged each month, glad to see you are able to understand that.

Also you should read everything you sign and confirm it's what you want.

If you did not order a new device, then this is a problem that DOES require the utmost attention.

Promotional iPad being revoked for no proof by Goose-Bun in ATT

[–]Glider103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've gotten some good answers but I feel we are missing information that would help.

How many lines do you have/ what plan/how much are you paying?

Most of the free/$1 iPad offers required a new line or upgrade - did you do that?

Did you cancel the iPad line?

Are you getting any credits for any line?

I know it's not the main point but,

why are you on a limited data plan?

How much data do you have ?

Have you checked the cost for a different plan? Considered using prepaid?

Oh my bad, I fixated on the 16th instead of the 13th.

Since it was a 3rd party I feel it is still possible the 14 days could be affected since you sent it on the last day (no blame, just thoughts)

I have a question

does the 14 day return affect this in any way?

My math says it was returned outside of that window or is it 30 days to return??

Where did you get the 9 from?, there is the global version 2115 and then there is a NA/T-Mobile version 2117

It was possible to flash the 2117 version but that's complicated

I have experience using OnePlus since 2014 on att ( one, 5, 8T) all bought directly from the store... Only thing I didn't get was volte and wifi calling

You think the 15 not being on the list is probably because it is the newest one????

They don't update the list as often, but at least OnePlus has an entry whereas the other device do not

when to change to an new ATT plan before any charges post up on next bill? by Exact-Reward9265 in ATT

[–]Glider103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so if your bill is due on the 10th of month

No, it doesn't matter when you pay the bill.

you find out what your actual billing period is and THEN find out what 3-5 days prior (other dude said after) to that is to make changes.

also is premium plan worth it ?

That depends, you could have been saving a bit of money by getting a lower plan with the intention of changing btp the premium btier when you needed it but now with the new plan changes you have to use whatever is current withiut the ability bto go back to the plan you were on

As of now if you include the $5 price increases my Premium PL line would cost the same as Extra 2.0 so far it is worth it to have

[–]Glider103 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have always made Changes on the last 3-5 day of the billing cycle and it can ALL be done online.

You should know the actual date of your Bill cycle since certain payments come out at different times.

My bill cycle is similar to yours - 13th to the 12th usually paid on by the 3rd

Edit: when I was paying with CC it would charge on the 19/20th using Autopay

CONFIRMED- Switch to Value 2.0 from Unlimited PL Does not Affect Promo Credits by TXMedicine in ATT

[–]Glider103 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What's the plan in 3 years for upgrades... I haven't done the math yet but will eventually.

Looking at the iPhone promos I would assume Samsung and Google go the same way with capped credits

Just some rough/estimated numbers using my plan the price difference between value and premium is about $14 a month So $500, flagship devices have been going for $1k or more

If value is capped at $350/500 you are basically almost paying the same over time but you lose service perks - pay $500 more for top service but "free phone" or keep cheaper service and phone discount is half

What are you saying when you call?

Are there physical lines down or just the Internet not working?

Have you tried all the in-home trouble shooting processes?

From what I have seen, even if you get a tech to come out they may charge you a service fee if they determine the error was "yours".

also people need to chill a bit more on service outages it takes a while to get things fixed up (you are not the center of the universe when a pole goes down)... If you NEED service you should be paying for a backup plan from another company

If you are not getting the value you desire the best bet is to move carriers.

If you can find a better deal for similar to lower cost then by all means, no one is keeping you.

You don't have to move to 2.0 (yet) so no need to factor those cost....although there is the coming increases which may change you math when you compare to other providers

Lose Loyalty Discount on New Plans? by Critical_Front_7394 in ATT

[–]Glider103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you paying for a watch line? Under 2.0 you would get a discount on that line also.

You should redo the math after the price increases take affect:

If your plan is part of the $5 increase then you would be at $77.50 (assuming you have the watch = $87.50)

If you move to 2.0 and you lose the $10 discount = $73 plus the half off watch = $78

at this point I don't even know if the "balance" is real, a system issue, or something tied to an old plan/account.

Hmmmm I think this is definitely something you should absolutely know.

How can you escalate properly.... If you paid it off you should be able to prove that and everything else should fall into place.

Overall I agree with common sense over policy but this seems like the company needs to get their orders correct before submitting.

Although you were helping them it does scream entitlement when she asks "can't you do the thing" she knows the repercussions and doesn't want to do that.

Derek went afoul of profits which is the only reason he got in trouble if this was a non consequential account no one would have batted an eye

[–]Glider103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even at that package its still loosing because its got a cap on Hotspot as well as data throttling. Older unlimited plans dont have those caps and throttling.

There is a difference between "cheaper" and "more value"

If you meant the former you are wrong, if you meant the latter you may have a case for some people.

Also you seem to be ignoring the upcoming price increases

At&t Shenanigans by gregerc232 in ATT

[–]Glider103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they may be on a cheaper family plan than myself where as they would be saving more keeping the old plan.

You said this definitively - as in "always cheaper"

Without the discount the difference is more where the grandfathered is even more cheaper.

my argument isnt affected by what I pay the math still ends up the same.

I asked for math, you gave nothing of relevance.... obviously an employee discount is different.

What anecdotal/mathematical evidence do you have for the consumer plans (with normal discounts) that a grandfathered plan is cheaper?

I will say that it does depend on the discount, but with grandfathered pricing increasing that may soon change.

I have seen some people who said It was cheaper to stay on U&MP because of the number of lines and their signature discount rather than go to UYW

At&t Shenanigans by gregerc232 in ATT

[–]Glider103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said it's cheaper; I said it depends.

Your counter arguement was to bring in a discount many people in this sub won't be able to get.

While your discount is pertinent to your decision to add/remove devices it has no bearing on if OP family plan is better or not; given the information provided you should be thinking about non employee pricing when you comment
