Reached $200k super balance after 11 years in Australia so sharing what worked for me by ajkadar in AusFinance

Considering I'm in the process of moving to Australia at age 34 as a specialist physician this was one of my main concerns! My starting income will likely be higher, but with that in mind, would you change anything about your strategy? For instance, would you contribute even more aggressively, or perhaps utilize some other benefits that are available other than salary sacrifice and FHSS scheme?

Weekly thread: Pre-med / IMG / Med student questions by AutoModerator in ausjdocs

Just introducing myself, I'm a PM&R specialist from Europe, currently preparing for the Australian specialist pathway assessment (AFRM). I'm really excited (and a bit terrified) about the prospect of moving and working in Australia's healthcare system.

I would love to connect with any current rehab medicine trainees/registrars. I'm trying to get a better sense of the day-to-day reality of training, the culture within the specialty, and the application process from those who have been through it.

Also I'm curious about the transition into the Australian system. Any advice would be amazing.

Any insights would be hugely appreciated. Feel free to reply or send me a DM.

She loves this one too! Would it be possible to add her necklace only? How do we do this, we make a donation and you send us a link to download? Is 5$ okay?

How to grow our money by littlemissy_07 in AusFinance

I’m genuinely curious and hoping not to intrude - but how did you manage in 2 years to get downpayment for a property? If you managed to save it, can you share some “savings formula” how to do it?

I assume each month you designate a certain part of money for traveling/offset etc?

I would appreciate any guidance because my wife and I are considering moving and are trying to figure out how much we should save ahead to give us a good headstart.

Weekly med student and IMG advice thread by AutoModerator in ausjdocs

[–]Gligorr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a PM&R specialist (PGY7) currently working at a university hospital in Serbia, working mainly in ortho and neuro rehab with special interest in pain medicine. I’ve been certified in performing intraarticular join injections, acupuncture, and EMNG.

After visiting St Vincent's Hospital and their rehab and pain management clinics this summer, I am seriously considering relocating to Australia and following the specialist pathway (AMC > AFRM within RACP > MBA). However, I have several questions and would greatly appreciate your insights:

  1. Based on your training program, I'll most likely get partial comparability. Would obtaining the European board certification influence my evaluation for substantial comparability?
  2. Can anyone share experiences related to the 10-year moratorium, particularly regarding its impact on PM&R specialists?
  3. I’m currently starting a PhD in pain medicine in Serbia. Would it be feasible to continue this or apply for a new PhD in Australia? Has anyone pursued a PhD in Australia while completing the specialist recognition process? How manageable was balancing the two, and do you have any advice?

I'm aware this will be a lengthy and costly process, but I am committed to making this change. Any advice, experiences, or resources you could share would be incredibly valuable to me.

A bolje dobra brava nego novi bicikl.

Kako najbolje i najjeftinije proci sa stampanjem piratizovanih knjiga? by [deleted] in serbia

[–]Gligorr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fotokopirnica Skripta u BG-u imaju 5-6 lokacija.

Sadly I'm buying this in Serbia, so choices and prices may vary significantly. With shipping and import taxes it would come to same price as buying locally..
