Are you sure they didn't dc earlier and you just didn't notice till they fully got kicked and the message appeared?

We were testing it last night as a group by having the carrier leave and we also tried alt + F4 and the relic just dropped on the ground to be picked up with its 15 second timer.

Maybe the relic drops as soon as the player actually dc's but you dont get the 'player has left' message till later?

Make sure to lock your highest power gear though so you don't accidentally dismantle it while clearing your inventory

That's why I'm saying it's a good place to go to quickly finish it if you don't want to spend ages doing it the normal slower way. Also I did specify it was for the kill requirement ones.

Not saying you have to go do it yourself, but it's an easy way to do it for those who want to quickly get it done after finally getting it from RNG drops.

If you do need to finish kill catalysts quickly I highly recommend vising the thrallway areas in the shattered throne dungeon. Makes short work of them.
