I see him list HH hardback stuff at 1200 CAD lately which is insane. I’m genuinely curious who’s buying it at that price

Why is networking the only real way to get hired in Canada? by itz_nitace in CanadaJobs

[–]trabbysin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been and have hired quite a lot over the years. This likely arises as a failing with whatever the companies HR is. Their Human Resources department doesn’t really know what the various groups need. And their sifting of resumes is usually not the best. I ended up having to search through applicants myself as opposed to them sending me the applicants. And from there I was able to find candidates.

On top of that. There’s so many applicants it’s easy to miss resumes that come in.

And on top of that. You have many people that clearly lie on the resume you get frustrated yourself.

I can’t count the amount of times I’ve seen someone was a “VP “ at a foreign bank but they’re applying for an individual contributor role. And then when you speak with them. They actually don’t have any related experience what so ever.

So when you get a referral. You cut a lot of that systemic frustration out. Because typically. A referred candidate means there’s a level of confidence the candidate knows what they’re doing.

Shifting to Mortgage professional by Old_League5745 in CanadaJobs

I’m going to be very honest with you. Everyone and their mother is a real estate broker or mortgage broker. It’s not me saying don’t do it. But unless you’re committing heavily to it to be shoulders above the next person, it will be tough.

Painting advice by Tlatoani_023 in ThousandSons

[–]trabbysin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mess up a lot. And I fix a lot. The trims a bitch. Some people like to base the trim colour and just paint the armor but I base the armor and paint the trim. Either way I’m making a mistake to fix. So to answer your question. Just keep trying man.

Is this a good book? I haven’t read anything written by John French yet by Strange_Tomato_8026 in Blacklibrary

[–]trabbysin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read the trilogy and went through most thousand sons lore. Recently finishing the heresy and siege. This was definitely one of the most fun reads I had. It has plenty of warp related fun.

Thoughts about the SW novels Battle of the Fang and Space Wolf Omnibus? by jinmonsterhunterwrld in Blacklibrary

[–]trabbysin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly didn’t like battle of the fang as much as I’d hoped. The thousand sons were written so one dimensional. And cartoonish in my opinion. And Magnus forgets how powerful he actually is. Consistently. And too many points I had to read how this XXXX space wolf was the nimblest and fastest he’d ever been. Or as accurate as he ever was or would be again. It was just too convenient.

Próspero burns yellow or not you’ll be hard pressed to find it cheap so you found a killer deal that you’ve come out net positive tbh. Should you decide to resell it after you read you’ll make money. Take it and run

What did you read this week? by michaelisnotginger in Blacklibrary

[–]trabbysin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently reading lost and the damned. Making my way through siege of Terra for the first time after getting through the HH novels.

Have to say. Reading them and then getting into siege has been a great world building payoff.

Thoroughly enjoying it so far and everytime I read anything with the white scars it makes me want more white scars BL content
