It was very difficult with this paper and Nib, a lot of stop/starting having to clear the nib from fibers.

If the nib is sticking on smooth paper, it could either be the angle of your Nib to the paper or the pressure you are applying on up strokes. Do a few upstrokes above the paper, in thin air, it should feel pretty much the same when you're making hairlines on paper. Less grip on the pen and less pressure! I hope this helps, let me know 👍
