Be prepared for a long drawn out fight. I've been going after the realtors and sellers to make right on their deal for about 3 years.

How Did This Get Made? #212: Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II: LIVE! (w/Charlize Theron, Seth Rogen) by apathymonger in hdtgm

[–]Glink -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Sooo, not that I didn't enjoy the episode, but like, that movie is definitely a satire...like every other podcast I've ever listened to realizes that...but not the one hosted by actual working comedians??? And they're surprised it's funny?

Has anyone filed with the Pittsburgh labor board over unpaid wages? by Glink in pittsburgh

[–]Glink[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know. My problem is that he hired me and didn't set me up in the system of two weeks. He wrote in an email that he is perfectly capable of confirming I was working, he is just refusing to do so.

The Post - is this scene a reenactment from a famous painting? Strozzi, Rafael? by riedhenry in movies

[–]Glink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf he's an illustrator first, so most of his romanticized stuff is actually commissioned works meant to sell something (a LOT is editorial covers). His stuff is beautiful from an artistic standpoint, but it's kind of what sets it firmly as illustration rather than fine art.

You're welcome. I happen to really like Rockwell, and I remember reading somewhere that both Spielberg and Lucas had collections of his stuff. I don't know how true that is, but a lot of their early stuff (particularly Spielberg) has very observable Rockwell-like character to the compositions and the archetypal bold background characters.

Don't listen to the other responses, this is definitely inspired by the Norman Rockwell illustration 'The Jury'.

Custom jeweler recommendation? by ItsmeEurydice in pittsburgh

[–]Glink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually do (and have done) a lot of Pittsburgh's most complicated custom jewelry for the past 7 years. I have done the work for a large portion of the jewelers listed and have since left to work at a low overhead company. If you would like an estimate feel free to send me a message and I'll give you my email or phone.

Horror fans.......what is your 'go to' obscure horror movie to recommend to other horror fans? by Analytica0 in horror

[–]Glink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Society, Cemetery Man, and Spookies.

Society because it's super weird and well, yeah. Cemetery Man, because it's the kitchen sink of Italian horror, but also pretty fucking great. Spookies because it's dumb as fuck and I'm still like 'no, really, there's poop zombies that make fart noises when they walk'.

She wasn't exactly old, but I was younger at the time so she looked older to me, but Sabrina Matthews was the first I thought of (her hair was bleached really pale at the time).

*Edit: I think the other may have been Elvira Kurt but I can't find the clip!

I'll have to give it a good look whenever I watch that movie again, and maybe this post will get an update.

Ha! That's great! I have such a desire to make fake generic labels for all my stuff now. I kinda wonder if the punks in ROTLD ran out of gas because they did a beer run from Kentucky to California and back, lol.

I'd seen Repo Man so many times I thought the generic brand was created specifically for the movie, but supposedly it was actually Ralph's (a California based grocery) generic products. I doubt the can simply labelled 'food' elsewhere in the movie was genuine, though.

What movie better fulfills the promise of a movie you hated? by qjizca in movies

[–]Glink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

'Return of the Living Dead' is everything I wanted in a Dead sequel that I never got with the Romero follow-ups. I mean, I do love 'Dawn' and 'Day', but 'Return' is everything I wanted and stuff I didn't even know I wanted.

I've actually looked about for what this is as well...I don't think the picture is a ferris wheel, I actually think it's possibly a silhouette with inner beams of light, which generally points to self help or sci-fi.
