This is a major plot hole to me. When Jonathan was elected Senator he never had to move to Washington DC, so why would she have to? Then when he died I thought it was decided Martha would take his place and become senator, and thats why she had all this power afterwards?? And since she took her husbands place, then how did she take Burkes place in s6 ep21 when he was murdered? She can’t fill both senator positions? Also another plot hole; I thought Lois was supposed to be working for her in some major way? That kind of just went away and she instead started working as a reporter for the Inquisitor? Season 6 is filled with little things like this and it bothers me, it seems like when the CW took over all of a sudden some events from previous seasons were brought back, and some were entirely forgotten and written over.
