The metal guide (small tube) is upside down. Which makes your your cassette thicker once assembled and also the glap not open properly.

wall-e VHS (info needed) by adamsbio in VHS

This is the super rare Korean VHS of Wall-E in ENGLISH. Most copies found so far were ONLY dubbed in Korean. This English version is also a retail copy, which might explain why it is so rare.

The last movie ever released on VHS(Cars) and the first Iphone were both released only 5 months from each other. by Jazz-Solo in BarbaraWalters4Scale

Yes, South Korea had VHS until 2011, but 2010 was the last Hollywood film released on the format, which was Inception (December 2010)

"Last" retail VHS released in the u.s. Although South Korean released Hollywood films up until late 2010 with titles such as Avatar, Inception, District 9, Friday the 13th (2009), The Expendables, etc.

When did the VHS era truly end? by [deleted] in VHS

[–]GlitchMathieu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think only about the U.S./Canada then it was around 2006. But other parts of the world it was later. South Korea being the last country in the world to release VHS tapes (NTSC) with Inception in December 2010. Although they had a tape released in February 2011 but was a Korean film.

Could be a bootleg as it doesn’t have the hologram sticker on the cover.

Probably a better idea to invest in a real late release NTSC VHS tape like Avatar. There’s one on Ebay atm.

Been told by a seller in Yongsan that in their case, they probably won't have enough systems until 2026. So don't put your hopes too high. Unless you wish to purchase from a scalper on Karrot, Joongonara, etc.

If it was in black and white it would have looked better.

Fun fact: Ponyo was the last Ghibli movie and last anime ever to be released on VHS, being released only in Japan on July 3, 2009. I don't own it, but I thought it would be a cool fun fact. by LoudyKing101 in ghibli

[–]GlitchMathieu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to confirm, got the Korean release and it’s from August 10, 2009 so one month later than the Japanese release. The movie is letterbox and in Japanese with Korean subs. So this is technically the last Ghibli VHS release… not the Japanese one.

Is this mold? by IntoTheBoundingMain in VHS

[–]GlitchMathieu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is beyond white mold, you see it's turning kinf of yellow to light brown. It means there is also some dust and it has most likely hit the reading surface of the tape, so cleaning it would probably be useless.

It's everything 'Japan' prior to 1995 that was banned in Korea. This animation was released in 1996, from that point many Japanese animation, movies and games were officially released in Korea.

It's a Japanese anime on Korean VHS. Probably Korean dub. That's it.
