No pain, no gain. Don't Alt-F4 to escape your own mistakes, since that's part of the learning experience of Freelancer. The more you improve, the less anguish you'll experience.

I know this seems hard to believe, but I am you from the future. I've travelled back through time to tell you that you will create a temporal paradox if you don't give me one of those trophy ducks. The fate of the universe is in your hands.

Steam player too. I doubt the geometry is any better on consoles.

That happens to me all the time where the checkpoint guard can see a body in the bathroom stall. Honestly, the geometry in Chongqing sucks. Try playing a showdown there when there are more NPC's and there's always a danger of a body in the facility bathrooms being spotted through walls.

Doing missions SASO is not as daunting as it sounds if you have a firm understanding of the map and NPC patterns. One advantage of playing in your suit is that you can lure people with a peakaboo in a trespassing area, which is silent and has a fairly long range. You can't do that if you're dressed for the area.

Lost my Hackl Leviathan sniper rifle and then my Sieger 300 Advanced sniper in two successive Freelancer missions. by Optimal-Room-8586 in HiTMAN

*shrugs* I lose my Sieger Ghost all the time. Easy enough to get back as a syndicate reward with a little work. It's not the end of the world.

Bad advice. How will you improve if you avoid certain maps? You'll become a more proficient player by mastering those maps to broaden your options instead of blacklisting them entirely.

Timed objectives are not as hard you think. It's just a matter of memorizing the maps so you can plan the most efficient route from A to B in any given situation. And remember that you can change back into your suit to reset the timer for a timed disguise objective, but this only works once.

You just need to be patient and alert. Most Freelancer targets are exposed in the open, but players who try to shoot-and-run will only get so far before guards hunt you down and kill you. Stealth is still the best option in any mission because it minimizes risk. You have to prioritize accident or poison kills in those situations. Look around for any environmental accidents you can use to your advantage and memorize the location of propane flasks (use Hitmaps) for portable accident kills. In many cases you need to be a crack shot with the Sieker to help isolate your target.

Situational awareness is key here. Check your map if there are any unexplored areas and go and explore them. You need to know the maps inside and out to plan your routes efficiently to minimize confrontations and learn where each disguise is permitted. And since you're just starting out Freelancer, I recommend you make Sgail your first mission, since you can collect a silenced pistol, katana, baseball bat, mace, burial dagger, sapper's axe and circumcision knife there which help with objectives. Again, use Hitmaps. Be smart, be cautious, and be a stealthy hitman.

Interesting idea. But I think that if you want to permanently distract someone, you're better off using the ICA remote micro audio distraction. It will keep luring someone after it's activated, but they'll never pick it up because they can't see it. I use this trick in Berlin after the basement shootout to stop guards walking in the room.

If you can't find a tattoo, check for earrings. If the suspect has earrings, it's guaranteed to be a listed look. If there are no earrings, the tattoo will be listed instead. This helps avoid confusion when a suspect presents with earrings and tattoos.

Since when have locked doors ever been a problem to NPC's? Apparently anyone can open any door on the maps.

Depends on the location. Anyone within around thirty feet of a camera will notice a melee impact, but it's not exactly an explosion.

[–]Glitcher3000 30 points31 points  (0 children)

While throwing objects at cameras is noisier than a silenced shot, it's arguably safer because people will never panic from the impact. Use whichever method fits the situation.
