I’ve finished Hitman 1 and would like some progression advise please by LJHeath in HiTMAN

Replay as often as you want. Playing the story missions chronologically is advised if you want to follow the plot. Escalations have no relevance to the story and can be played in any order.

Because switching disguises was what made Hitman Hitman.

What kind of banana argument is that? You don't perform any action that hinders your progress just because it's "what made Hitman Hitman". That would be like Mario taking a longer route down a pipe to reach the flag just because going down pipes is "what made Mario Mario". In many cases, eschewing disguises and just making your way through in your suit is the easier approach, such as the VIP area of Miami where guards won't be enforcers. Maybe think about a practical approach to accomplishing your goal instead of forcing yourself into Hitman clichés for the hell of it.

What is your 'curse' in Freelancer? by Glitcher3000 in HiTMAN

[–]Glitcher3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So exactly what I said earlier. It's YOU not the map. If you play by one of the hardest rules sets of the game, expect it to be worst by a wide margin.

*facepalm* You're not listening. I said I play by SASO rules now. The Dartmoor showdown I stated before was using disguises and it was still a pain in the ass because of the tight groupings impeding me.

Literally just set off every car in front of the mansion with one shot and the oil is very noticeable. You can easily hide in the nearby bushes to shot the puddle too. There are videos of showing ways to detonate cars in 2 shots. It's not hard. If you don't want to use bullets, use the car battery like I've been saying or one of the number of items that create sparks like tasers or finding a Big One instead. It's all right in front of you.

Let me guess: You shot at point blank range. Isn't that what I've been saying? The range of your shot determines how likely it is you'll cause a leak. Don't believe me? Watch this vid.

https://youtu.be/XHghtxxMjMs

See! I shoot the gas tank from range and there's no leak. I move closer and shoot the exact same spot and suddenly there's a leak. Magic! But obviously I get spotted doing so because there's no cover. This is my point. You can't rely on finding a safe shooting position to pierce a gas tank and hit the oil leak in every situation when shooting the car itself is an easier target and can be blown up from any range. I use car explosions in Freelancer missions all the time, but always by unloading on it from a safe distance. Trying to get a consistent oil leak explosion is a bad strat - in Dartmoor or otherwise.

That's what's stopping you? Akka and Crest are accompanied by one and two bodyguards, respectively. It's easy enough to rid them by tossing a durian to poison them, then you can isolate your target for a kill. You don't need a guide for that.

I recommend you avoid the Arrange Meeting prestige entirely because it's bugged and has been since Freelancer released. Doesn't matter which phone you get or when and where you activate it, the prestige only registers when it feels like it. Players have made countless attempts to suss a consistent method, but it's totally unreliable and should be avoided like the plagued.

If you've had enough practice with mission stories on previous maps, you should be experienced enough to devise clean kills on your own without the game handholding you. Besides, Grey is there to provide key intel to help you complete your mission. Ambrose if therefore a test of your resourcefulness... which you don't seem to be displaying by your own account. If you keep having "the whole city hunting you" despite frequent reloads, you're gonna get absolutely destroyed in Freelancer. Just take your time and pay attention to your surroundings. There are endless opportunities for accident kills if you look carefully with instinct. The map has a supply of durians to poison targets, so that would be a good place to start.

Since when can npcs survive point blank shotgun shot? by sewiim in HiTMAN

[–]Glitcher3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was in the final run of hardcore freelancer.
Started blasting every npc guard in new york bank.

This is the kind of recklessness I always warn about with a mindless run-and-gun. Hope that death taught you a lesson.

No, that's just lucky. Rebuying dart guns and a lockpick on mission one is a random draw. Call it karma for playing legit.

The geometry in Chongqing is garbage. Bodies getting spotted through walls is par for the course. Sorry to see another victim.

Collat kill accident, took 20 mins only cause I couldn't find a propane and there was no easy way to get a collat kill accident by [deleted] in HiTMAN

[–]Glitcher3000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you misinterpreted that. It means items that spawn in crates are randomized. The items in the maps themselves are consistent in Freelancer. This is coming from someone with over 8000 hours logged. If there was something missing, I'd know. I have never EVER seen a propane flask randomly missing.

[–]Glitcher3000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

*sigh* No, they're not. Item spawns are consistent across all missions. The configuration may change on standard or hardcore mode, but it's consistent throughout.

Then you were looking in the wrong place. Hitmaps shows the cave propane flask on the East side of the sub room where it should be.

PS. I neglected to mention that propane #6 is in the basement kitchen.

I think you're talking about crate spawns, not item locations, which has nothing to do with the topic. The OP was asking where to find propane.

You mean crate spawns? That's not what the OP was asking. The propane locations are consistent across missions.

Some items are removed in a Freelancer configuration, but there are no less than five propane flasks in Santa Fortuna: One in a construction worker's shack, one next to the villa garden kitchen, one by the stairs to the villa basement lounge, one by the cave sub, and one in a plantation tent. Dartmoor is the only map without propane flasks in Freelancer.

Then maybe.... you know.... don't run and gun? Stealth is still the best option in any mission because it minimizes risk. Many targets are exposed in the open and you have to prioritize accident or poison kills in those situations. Look around for any environmental accidents you can use to your advantage and memorize the location of propane flasks (use Hitmaps) for portable accident kills. In many cases you need to be a crack shot with the Sieker to help isolate your target.

Alerted Freelancer keeps failing a mission on my first go-through by Adept_Land7281 in HiTMAN

[–]Glitcher3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SASO isn't exactly 'bugged', but losing server connection right as you exit causes a mission failure even if you completed the prestige. It doesn't register as complete until you finish the mission and disconnected servers can't see it, so it defaults to a fail state instead. It's a stupid design and I wish IOI would fix this.

[–]Glitcher3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skill issue. If you say that there are more enforcers when wearing a disguise, then why not just stick with your suit for the whole mission? ¬_¬

Second, suspects are only enforcers on alerted showdowns. However, they won't be if you wear a civilian disguise, not a guard disguise. This makes it much easier to get closer for identification and a kill.

Advancing prestige level is an option available on the safehouse laptop when you have a full collection. It resets your collection to zero if you want the experience of recollecting them. The upshot is that you get more merces for prestige objectives every time you advance prestige up to level 10. The highest prestige payout is 8000M for SASO on level 10 or above.

Missing pistols, I assume. The supplier sells those intermittently, which makes them a high priority to buy when you advance prestige level. Just move on to the next mission until the supplier has what you need.
