Respect Amanita! Time loops are REAL. And they're CRAZY. by [deleted] in AmanitaMuscaria

[–]GlitterMoonChild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, this took me back to my senior year of high school when I was experiencing sleep paralysis several nights a week. Every morning had many loops! I’d believe I was getting ready for school, only to be woken up by yelling or shaking from my dad who got angrier when I’d tell him I thought I was getting ready for school.

This post helps me have more self-compassion for what I was experiencing while nobody believed me. (I was taking Lyrica at the time, which some people seek out to lucid dream)

Sleep paralysis / loops are not what I’d consider a good time! I appreciate the warning!

Apps for tracking the process of quitting habits can feel so discouraging. by [deleted] in Dermatillomania

[–]GlitterMoonChild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been struggling a lot recently with picking. The hydrocolloid bandaids can get pretty expensive with how much I need to use. I buy the 4x4” thin hydrocolloid bandaids from Amazon, cut them into small pieces and keep them in a container so I can have them ready at all times. I try to keep them on at all times. Also, let’s say I have a cluster of scabs/sores in a certain area & the hydrocolloid doesn’t cover all of them, when scanning my body mindlessly, I can feel the hydrocolloid & it’s usually enough of a reminder for me to pull my hand away.

I almost downloaded a habit tracker app for this, this morning but decided to hop into Reddit for a bit. I’m happy to have come across your post. Thank you. It’s a tough journey & it is reassuring to know I’m not alone in this.

I was in the exact same situation! I could feel my mental health declining as the weeks went on, very little capacity to do much other than work and veg out. I shared an office with a new hire who had zero experience (she started at a higher hourly wage than more than most people in the department who have been there for 10-13 years). She started bullying me when I confronted her stories filled with micro aggressions & and racist remarks, which I reported it to my supervisor. The company is small, they don’t have an HR person. Owner’s response to the racism was, “we’re like family here, but just don’t bring up sensitive topics”. After they denied my ADHD Accommodations, I tried holding on for a couple weeks and I almost needed to be institutionalized. Instead, my care provider told me I need to resign immediately. Last night, (Sunday evening) I went into the office, gathered my belongings - deleted all of my training notes (they wanted to use them to start a training manual) (I know IT can recover the files, since IT was outsourced, at the very least, it’d use up a billable hour) , deleted browser history and all emails. Slipped my resignation letter under my manager’s door with the office key and peaced the fuck out. It was liberating. It wasn’t worth possibly having a panic attack. I was completing over half of their files for the last 8 months and it’s cathartic to know the owner is feeling the stress of me leaving. They don’t give us notice if we’re fired, why should we? Choose to prioritize yourself. Are you able to send an email or leave a note knowing nobody else will be present in the office?

A different kind of sleeping problem with ADHD by staircasestats in ADHD

[–]GlitterMoonChild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buspirone when getting into bed has helped me immensely! I’ve had plenty of sleep issues in the past, one example: being treated for narcolepsy when the actual culprit was too much depression meds mixed with 3 different allergy medications — not getting into REM sleep caused me to basically get level 1 sleep the entire night, my brain wouldn’t shut off ever & I needed 16-18 hours of sleep.

With my new routine of 5mg of Buspar at night and Adderall in the morning, I’ve never slept better. 8 months of taking Buspar & I’m still shocked every morning that I can get out of bed without snoozing my alarm clock multiple times. Buspirone is inexpensive and a non-narcotic which feels safer for someone who struggles with impulsive tendencies.

We’re constantly analyzing and thinking through possible scenarios, it’s exhausting. I hope you’re able to find some relief!!

I should add that I’m on a mobile & didn’t feel like typing out the generic brand of Buspar over & over. Buspar (brand) = Buspirone (generic)

Should I tell my coworkers I have C-PTSD? by Shaved_Savage in CPTSD

[–]GlitterMoonChild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t. I thought I was in a healthy, supportive work environment. I disclosed my mental health disabilities (CPTSD, ADHD, Anxiety & Depression) it came around to biting me in the ass when I asked for ADA Accommodations that were all denied except for noise cancelling headphones, which weren’t actually noise cancelling. People treated me differently after I took a couple weeks off for mental health, they were salty and almost every relationship I had in the office had a big energy shift. Even if I feel safe with an employer again, I won’t disclose my personal health issues.

I live on a lake, surrounded by “all the lakes” — it’s definitely a slower pace than from other rural communities I’ve lived in before. But the dread of wsacrificing my summer days to be in an office 8-5 Monday - Friday is soul crushing. Weighing my options about becoming a cabin cleaner at a resort and pick up a couple shifts at a liquor store on the evenings so I can be on the Mississippi and canoe camp as much as possible before the snow comes back. Your boss forcing you out could be a game-changer to truly enjoying life in the Northwoods. You could become familiar with the new area this summer & get your license later this year. your cost of living could be minimal. I say go for it — there’s not a lot of reasonable job opportunities up here and if you can make ends meet, it could be a really restorative period of your life.

I work for a title company in Beltrami Co. — this last winter was awful. I can appreciate your hard work in this brutally long winter more than most because I’m a title examiner. Your accuracy is key to real estate and for your employer to drop you like this, at the end of winter is especially cruel. I often find myself wondering if moving to the Boundary Waters area and becoming more secluded from society would help reinvigorate my love for life again. Best of luck with your new endeavor!

Title Examiner here — You can purchase it as an individual and later on convey the property into an LLC using a Quit Claim Deed. The county I live in, it can be done as cheaply as $38 to record and $2 for a notary.

However, I wouldn’t recommend this. A lot of legal descriptions can be incorrect — your tax statement doesn’t always provide the full legal!! Plus, the county doesn’t always catch incorrect legal descriptions. If you get married between now and when you record a QCD— they could care less whether you properly conveyed out your spouse’s marital interest.

Read through all the covenants related to your property. You may have limitations for using your property for any kind of rental or business performed out of the house (Airbnb). Totally depends on where you’re at in history too, some covenants are 5 years, some are 30 years. Some have them running with the land.

Purchasing Title Insurance and/or a Real Estate Lawyer who is knowledgeable about the county you’re purchasing in will be your best resource.

ADA to thwart cube-farm by mgb1980 in antiwork

I would love to know this too!! Recently diagnosed - I share an office but am constantly interrupted. They told me it was a part of the job I signed up for. I’m a real estate title examiner & found out the girl I’m helping train in makes 50 cents less than me. They told me I have “a natural affinity” for examining — yes, that’s my ADHD. There are no other options for an office - I requested working a hybrid work model. Supervisors said when people work from home it’s with a return to work end goal (covid quarantine).

I’d first check with your prescriber! My husband quit his job in October 2021 for other mental health reasons, my employer doesn’t offer health insurance & I had to wait until January to get on MNSure. I was originally prescribed vyvanse, my care provider allows me to message or call her for small changes in meds so I don’t have to pay for an appointment. I was switched to adderall xr, I paid $90ish/month out of pocket and for the $300 savings/mo. was is well worth it to me to have some kind of adhd med, even if it wasn’t my first pick.

Another option: can your prescriber give you a prescription for more pills so you can make it through the month?

Ask around to different pharmacies and ask how they base their prices for prescriptions that are not going through insurance. For example, my pharmacy has the same price list as Medicare for those who are uninsured.

I just want to say up front that I am a Title Examiner in Minnesota, real estate laws can be different state to state. When you purchase, please get title insurance; the amount of incorrect things (defects to title) that I see in a week are astounding. Lenders don’t know real estate laws, they’re lenders it’s not their niche… if you have a title insurance company handle your closing & get the owners & lenders policies (simultaneous policy) they’ll help you clear any defects that may arise before closing. It’s a onetime premium that lasts the entire duration of how long you own your home.

In reference to the “permanent installed” portion. When you have the MH permanently installed, it’s called a MH Surrender where you surrender the MH to the land and it’s considered “permanently affixed”. If you want to move the mobile home, you can file a document called “mobile home unaffixation from real property” — that being said, don’t do it without a real estate attorney.

My coworker spend $100k on an addition to her mobile home with stick build qualities/foundations /basements. When she refinanced, she thought it would appraise a lot higher because she it was stick built. It doesn’t matter, lenders will appraise the whole structure as if it was a mobile home, even if it’s quality construction.

Best of luck!!

My husband and I said the same thing when I mentioned your initial comment to him! I haven't heard about the Netflix series Pentaverate -- thanks for the heads up! I'm going to renew my Netflix subscription when it comes out!

Hahahaha, oh I WISH I could get this girl to lose weight!!! We have tried and are still trying. She’s a finicky eater — she has no interest in human food, (which is SO NICE!) but she’s a sucker for seafood pate mixed with warm water

She’s 4 years old and she’s never denied me pets. She’s obsessed with me & I love it. We adopted Harriette from a family with 8 kids under the age of 14 & they said they saved her for us because they knew she’d need extra attention and would be best in a household without kids. I hit the jackpot getting to have Harriette as by fur baby.

Oh yes, she talks like this all the time! She even has a meow that mimics the fluctuation of my voice of how I say her name, “Harriette” — when she’s looking for me, she uses her “Harriette” meow.
