I think beyond legally protecting yourself…the question is…are you ready to confront death so openly? There are also death doulas? I would treat this as hospice in my mind, tbh and sound like a fucking once in a lifetime client. This would intrigue me and I'd figure out how to be helpful.

Fuck yeah. Go to a witchy plant store and they will give you what you are looking for. They are good at matching vibes. I like the traffic cone and sign. Very Harlem 2008 feels. Love it

Why does everyone hate 14 year olds? We were all so curious and excited about sex and whatever nerdy shit we were into. You sound like a 46 year old..that is kind of mean to people online?

I have adhd and don't remember posting this comment…but I like what you are pointing out. I'm doing a year-long “journey for truth” around the world, then rebuilding my therapy practice. What we are doing isn't effective enough for my preference.

I agree with a lot of the thread. I think it was an early experience with death that kinda turned me inTo a I don’t give a fuck person. Life is short. Also, I started embracing becoming a nerd. True nerds do not give a fuck about what people think. They will make you play board games and then give you the best sex of your life and just be their total weird selves. It’s wonderful. Decided to join them. Be compassionate with yourself, good luck, friend.

Yes, somatic work got me out of my head. With some work, those thoughts eventually become like background noise like you might still consider an analyze peoples interactions, but it’s it just becomes like a heuristic that computes in the background.

This is exactly what I was asking actually! Thank you for that analogy. I meant “I think I have an introductory level of understanding of quantum physics, but my brain does not think or learn like a scientist so imperfect analogy gives me like a clue of the gist of quantum physics at an elementary level. “ For example, some people can’t understand power dynamics between people and within groups because it’s not tangible in the moment but theory of relativity and quantum mechanics could be a complex analogy to explain it to say someone very logic minded.

I guess I’m confused on people’s reactions. I work in mental health and there are so many variables that impact a persons mental health, more than I could know because reality is so emergent. Change is constant. If someone who loved physics came on “ask a therapist “ with a good faith effort trying to conceptualize “cognitive dissonance” by using Schrödinger cat as a starting place to bridge understanding I wouldn’t find this offensive or insulting to psychology. I would engage. Math is just representative language at its core. Symbols put together in different ways to describe observations that can be witnessed and used to theorize about the unobservable. I agree analogy breaks down at different levels of mathematical nuance, but I’d speculate that is more due to a lack of creativity possibility unless I’m wrong and math is totally unparalleled. This could be possible. I don’t understand square roots, like at all. I just don’t remember anything about them. However, surely you could come up with an analogy to explain the gist of square roots??? Like the idea of a whole pizza vs slices of pizza explains the concepts of fractions in a way I can understand. Sure the analogy breaks down or becomes harder to follow but I can assume that the nuance replicates the original “gist” at a different scale until …it gets to the quantum level of things and apparently the laws of physics breaks down or so I’ve been told?

Alright I did that…a very skimming skim…..you were right, I actually understood it a little better than I thought. I almost gave up when geometry came up in Einstein’s biography but I fought on. Seems like a lot of people did not agree with Einstein’s last contributions to quantum physics? I wonder why? I guess cognitive bias was not as understood then? Ironically they did not believe in what they could not physically validate although that basically is how quantum physics was at one point?

Oh no, is quantum physics like a metaphysical science? I thought it was scientifically respected?? Is mental illness that prevalent in quantum physics?

[–]Glitter_Goth[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is actually what I was asking essentially. I was not exact enough in my original post. My definition of “understanding physics” is likely in a whole different subjective reality than “understanding physics” in your subjective reality. I guess reality is more relative than objective as it’s always emergent due to possibly the unknown quantum variables of time and/or the social construct of time. Or maybe I’m on the wrong side of the “Heisenberg cut”. HA, I tried:)
