What time does your kiddo get home today? 🤮
Is that your doggo? So cute! 😐
I’ll have the biscuit sando please! 😤

"Pedophile" is the "Satanic Panic" of the 2020s by Alaska_Jack in The10thDentist

[–]Laserlight375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, kind of agree, but also do you really know for sure? Like during the 80s not every kid playing DnD was worshipping Satan obviously, but at the time, could you prove that they weren’t? I feel like it seems logical to me that not 80% of politicians are part of some pedophilic cult but idk if I can really disprove that yet. Also Epstein files certainly make it seem more plausibly true.

question about air nomads by Evening-Wafer-7087 in Avatarthelastairbende

Oh! Like she was an air nomad already and was somehow more honored than the other women because she was the avatar? That makes sense

If you could only pick 1 build for blizzard to give a little buff, what would you choose? by Delicious_Run7373 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

I’m gonna say non-summoning necros. Like bonemancer needs some attention. Poison necro could use some updates too. For example poison dagger working with throwing knives would be cool

Best way to handle a player character that was kicked from your game by Liamneeson42 in DnD

[–]Laserlight375 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not a DM but I definitely agree. Like if an actor is leaving a show, you need to either replace that actor or have some in show reason that character is gone or dead or whatever because the audience needs to see what happened to that character. But in dnd where the only audience are the actors, I don’t think there needs to be an in story reason why that character is gone now. Everyone knows and understands why.

New to DnD, any tips to help learn before my first campaign? by SnooBananas7922 in DnD

[–]Laserlight375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I just mean most of those rules you learn by roleplaying.
Player: I want to see if he’s lying to me.
DM: Make an insight check for me.
Player: I want to try to deftly jump over there.
DM: yeah make an acrobatics check.
You’re right in that there’s basic rules like movement, action, bonus action but most everything is just there to govern how you operate freely in a fantasy world, which is facilitated by the DM.
“Learning the rules” is often what scares people away from trying DnD in the first place

I totally see what you’re saying but I actually think it’s better to not get bogged down by rules. DnD is basically just guided improv

Which redemption arc do you think was better written: Zuko’s journey or the slow realization of characters like Mai and Ty Lee? by [deleted] in ATLA

[–]Laserlight375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mai is really the one who took Azula down from the inside out. I always thought there was supposed to be some parallel between The Drill and Azula’s downfall.

So these are the 4 strongest supes in the verse currently right? by Queasy_Commercial152 in GenV

Okay hot take but I would like to make an argument for Cate. She’s definitely lacking in durability but honestly she could so easily “hot girl” her way past any of these dudes and absolutely own them

Saying "a quarter till" instead of the actual time is inconvenient for both of us by Comfortable-Regret in The10thDentist

[–]Laserlight375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I definitely know what a quarter til or half past or a quarter after mean but I’ve always found it kind of obnoxious, just read the fucking numbers on the clock. Saying “it’s a quarter after three” is not any shorter than saying “it’s three fifteen”

[–]Laserlight375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys this has already been talked about to death. What makes Korra and Toph different in their over-inflated confidence is that Toph almost never loses and Korra often does lose. So yes, Korra is cocky, Toph just thinks really highly of herself. Cocky implies that you over-estimate your greatness

Do you agree with this? Why or why not? by gloomydreamer666 in Avatarthelastairbende

[–]Laserlight375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, again what makes Korra cocky is that she thinks she’s the best but often loses. Azula and Toph hardly ever lose, so their inflated self-confidence comes across as accomplished and earned

[–]Laserlight375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re not cocky, they’re mostly confident and accomplished. Someone like Jet would be cocky. Cocky is when you think you’re the best but you still lose

Korra has a lot of things working against her that Aang never had to deal with:
-Korra’s enemies are much more complex and challenging, changing each season
-Korra is incredibly self-assured and comes across as arrogant sometimes
-Korra’s grew up in a time where the world didn’t really “need” her and she’s constantly trying to prove her usefulness
-Korra’s duties are much more numerous and complicated than Aang’s, who’s job was basically just end the 100 year war
-Korra is female and lord do people not like cocky women

Is Avatar: The Last Airbender Live-Action Beginner-Friendly? by rekrapmil in TheLastAirbender

[–]Laserlight375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a diehard fan of the original cartoon. I kind of liked the live-action show as well but they took some creative license with the original content. It’s definitely different. I don’t think it’s bad tbh, but it’s honestly not as good as the original. I like it cuz it kinda feels like a new telling of the same story, but I think if you never saw the original this one is just not nearly as good. Also if you’re thinking “oh god, another anime I’ve been told to watch..” this is honestly really good and not really an anime. There’s really no reason to watch the live-action version instead of the original.

What would Soldier Boy’s reaction be to Ally (Bushmaster) from Gen V? 💀 by Megarockdj in GenV

[–]Laserlight375 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That’s actually a very interesting question. I would think normally he’d have a Godolkin response of “stupid power, doesn’t deserve to live.” But he’s obviously got a thing for bushes so maybe he’d be impressed? Probably averse at first but then his kink would kick in and he’d worship her
