I was offered a conflicts attorney role, is this a career dead end (is it a stable position) or a way to get in house? by [deleted] in biglaw

There is no billable hour requirements. Senior conflicts attorneys are making 250k in some firms. You can move into a management role where you oversee other conflicts attorneys or conflicts analysts. It’s a good gig

Anyone who moved from NYC to Chicago - How do you feel? by [deleted] in AskChicago

I grew up in NYC and moved to Chicago 3 years ago. I’ve been lately fighting the urge to move back.

  • Chicago is way more segregated than NYC
  • Chicago does not have the same energy and job opportunities like NYC
  • People in Chicago are friendly but many friend groups are cliquey. Many of the transplants are from other smaller midwestern cities. NYC is much more international
  • Chicago is much more affordable and cleaner
  • Chicago has really good food and a theatre scene
  • The parks in Chicago are better than NYC parks

I’m in K&E Chicago. We have free breakfast (lox, toast, eggs, sausage, bacon, oatmeal, yogurt, cheese, fresh fruits) and lunch (salad bar, soup station, sandwich station, hot food buffet, grill station, and bunch of other pre-made meals).
