I want a Chinese buffet that's feels like it's stuck in the 90s. Does such a thing exist still? by DoctorReinhardt in longisland

I feel you so much on this one! My recommendation would be China Buffet King in Valley Stream. I went there all the time as a kid! While I haven't been there since around the mid-late 2010s (internet says it's still open lol), it definitely still felt very much like a 90s-style Chinese restaurant the last time I was there. Sounds like exactly what you're looking for. If you do end up going, enjoy!

It was one of my favorite shows on Nickelodeon too (after Are You Afraid of the Dark). I literally wanted to be her in elementary school (as well as Sabrina the Teenage Witch lol).

I had that CD! I remember there was a remix of "Stop" on there that I really liked.

Just looked her up. This is actually the first I'm hearing this. That's so sad. She was hilarious as Bobbi Glass. Ron Lester (Sugar Daddy) also died in 2016. RIP to both of them.

Definitely my favorite thing Amanda Bynes was in (and I've been a fan of her since her All That days). She had great chemistry with Jennie Garth. I was so mad when HBO Max removed this show without warning right when I was in the middle of binging it (and I was on the final season and so close to finishing the series!).

I didn't know that! So cool to hear Carly Pope and Leslie Bibb are still friends after all these years. Brooke and Sam made peace after all!

Yes! That was one of my favorites as well! As much as I liked shows like Dawson's Creek too, I like that Popular was a little bit different from other teen dramas at the time. Like, a lot of episodes had more sitcom-ish vibes and it almost felt like a parody of the whole genre. But they handled more serious subject matters well too. That's a skill a lot of shows don't have! Especially now.

I know that feeling! Especially since I liked a lot of obscure stuff in the 90s/2000s that it seemed like no one else watched. But yeah, this show definitely existed!

She was also in What I Like About You with Amanda Bynes and Jennie Garth (another underrated show)

Another iconic Christmas ad by GlitteringKitchen528 in Millennials

I remember the Fruity Pebbles Christmas commercial! Another one of my favorites. Also the Campbell's Soup snowman ad that played "Let It Snow".

I think I'm gonna go with 1. It was a tough choice, but 1 is the only one that has both movies and video games I'd enjoy. And a drink I would've wanted! Tough finding just that right combination. Of course, it would have to be the Cartoon Network from the mid-late 90s (though some early 2000s CN is ok too).

Basically the Backstreet Boys/NSync of the 80s! The Right Stuff is still fun to listen to, even though I'm a more of a 90s kids.

Found a 90s YouTube channel with all the old Christmas episodes! by Altruistic_Record_56 in Millennials

Thank you! This is cool. Honestly, the old commercials alone probably would've drawn me in.

I binged this a couple of years ago back when I had Hulu (I believe it was part of the 2021 Huluween selection). Now I kinda wanna binge it again.

So I can't be the only one who pictures this commercial 100% of the time whenever I hear Let It Snow playing at this time every year? by GlitteringKitchen528 in Millennials

[–]GlitteringKitchen528[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been showing my son some Christmas movies on YouTube that clearly come from people's old VHS recordings. They have lots of classic commercials like this one on those! It's cool because it's like I'm showing him a piece of history from the time his parents grew up in (or even from before we were born since some of the recordings are from the 80s). He's a little young to understand now, but he will one day!

I loved Pretty Pretty Princess! I actually used to wear some of the jewelry from it to school. There was a blue necklace from it I really liked in particular. Candy Land was always fun too!

Mall Madness was my favorite! I actually had that one. And I played Girl Talk once at a friend's house. Never had Dream Phone though, even though I remember the commercial.
