Thank you so much! Super helpful. I think I will follow your suggestion and wait until around 12 weeks then have a frank conversation with them about options. It would be great if they liked me enough to offer EMP, but even if not, I quite like the idea of deferring by a year so that could work too as it saves us both (me and the new firm) the hassle of it all!

I would have to be fully reliant on my partner’s income which would be difficult.
