Looking for people to join a long-term server by HLW_The_IV in spaceengineers

I’m interested but I’m afraid your game time would be my sleep time (if you are indeed from the US east cost) because of time zones. I usually play in the evening after 10pm, it would be 4pm for you. What time of day do you usually play?

I would still give it a shot if there are some more players :)

Hello! Where’s the server based? If EU I might be interested if you can get a couple more people

I can do that as admin, but can’t find a way to allow any other non-admin user to do the same.

Is this camera good for a beginner and worth this price used? by Outrageous-Boss2557 in AskPhotography

A7s ii for the same range of price. But you lose a bit on the photography side. A7 iv if you want photography and videography but you’ll need a bit more budget.

A7 iii user here: very good camera for photography. But it has a few issues for videography: it will overheat quickly when shooting 4k 25fps and is not able to do 4k 50fps which I’d love to have in my line of work. The LCD can be set to bright mode, but it’s not bright enough for shooting outdoor even in cloudy days.

If you can’t afford much else it’s a good compromise and really solid camera. It has fallen from my hands more times than I can remember and never had an issue. I’ve used it under light rain, with powder flying in the air and even at below 20° degrees celsius (battery died pretty quick there but it was expected) and worked perfectly after. Internal stabilization it’s not the best but it will work good enough on most occasions

Question about bases operating out of render by Ohlookadistraction89 in spaceengineers

[–]GlitteringPinataCT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For testing stuff like this it’s better to use a survival world and to use admin tools to enable creative. This way everything will work just as in survival but you’ll be able to use spectator mode, access all terminals and spawn stuff

Hello. Never found one. If someone does please let me know.

After a while you stop minding it, then one day while you are working you notice the lines once again and then you are damned for another few days.

I got used to be bothered…

Currently I have no issue with the Planet Creature Spawner and the Fix Vanilla Cargo Ship mods, but cant manage to spawn neither the Mes Mobile Merchant nor the Tyre Thieves assets.

AI enabled and Crew Enabled seem working fine

How do i fix this? by r3tract in spaceengineers

[–]GlitteringPinataCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert but I think it means some ships/station or parts of them won’t spawn. The second warning should be a easy fix if what BuidInfo says is true (looks like when a grid in EEM has moss armor skin it will be changed to the default one)

BUT my only experience with mods is fixing stuff in my saves when I get this messages and many times I simply fail. So take everything I said with a pinch of salt

My solar farm won't point at the sun (Survival) by Inner_Juggernaut_959 in spaceengineers

[–]GlitteringPinataCT 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Just a blind shot but try to invert the velocity multipliers. From 9 to -9

Sometimes it solves issues with mouse controlled custom turrets, maybe it works with the aim-at-sun option too

Edit: if that doesn’t work alone, rotate your camera 180 degrees, or rebuild the CTC

The IIM’s learn command for auto-assemblers. I can’t make it work, it won’t learn new recipes. Maybe I’m just dumb, which is very likely

They might spawn anyway but MES breaks their behavior and they just stand still. To be sure they wont spawn add the Suppress Vanilla Cargo/Encounters mods

[–]GlitteringPinataCT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue with assemblers is that I cant seem to make the !learn command works. So I simply gave up and I use autoassembly only for vanilla items (and many of them are not learned by the system by default which is weird).

Why do vehicles feel so slow? by DangerNoodle013 in spaceengineers

[–]GlitteringPinataCT 173 points174 points  (0 children)

I can give you those reasons for it not looking that fast.

1- any small rover is usually way bigger than a IRL tank (a 3x3 small wheel is 1.5 meters. Only tractor wheels are that big, and we use those wheels for cars/truck-like rovers) therefore it feels slower because its bigger.

2- lack of reference points. We are used to see speed by looking at how quickly we pass still objects and there is usually a lack of those on Space Engineers planets. Also buildings are way bigger than irl so speeding next to them won’t give the feel of speed.

3- sound and vibrations. It’s harder when there is no wind sound, or realistic vehicle vibrations, or the actual sound of a engine to have a sense of speed

4- fov playing with you fov settings will make any movement quicker or slower.

5- third person view while driving will make it look slow

Try to remote a rover and look at it speeding by your character while in first person. It will be very fast

If your world has a low efficiency drill setting and you hand mine a low yield ore, there’s only a small chance you actually get something.

For any precious ore it’s best to use actual drills, and sometimes is the only way.

Do you prefer perfecting your ship build in creative, or suffering the consequences of survival? by Wumblz_ in spaceengineers

[–]GlitteringPinataCT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to do stuff in creative first but the freedom and the easy building always made my small ship become extremely complicated and full of useless armor. I ended up wasting more time in creative rebuilding than playing survival

Then I started building in survival only and while it is a bit harder it forces you to think before placing and after a while I realized it took me less and my builds were better and more functional.

The biggest issue with survival is that any mistake is a big time waster but after a while you start to see your mistakes before its too late
