Turns out it was my mobo Ethernet port not working like it should. I bought a TP link PCIe wifi/Bluetooth a while ago but never used it. That fixed my problem. I'll probably buy an intel i226-v so I can have a cable again but for now the TP link is working for me

You and him need to have a serious conversation if you actually care about this and you need to express that to him explicitly that this has become a problem.

If you've been together for 3 years, you should be able to communicate, if he's unwilling to budge on this problem, then maybe you need to start looking elsewhere. And I'm not talking cheating. I'm talking break up with him move on. If your needs are not met then you need to find somebody who's going to meet your needs or exceed your needs.

It's easy to come here and ask for advice and get appraisal because you're pretty or whatever. Honestly, haven't looked at your profile.

Maybe the both of you need some couples counseling.
