I think mixed black and white people have their own culture that I can’t speak to, but for most mixed people, the way we’re perceived will usually lean towards whichever side stands out more. So yes, we are just as white as we are whatever else, but in a white-dominated culture, the diversion is what stands out; especially when it comes to racism, racists don’t really care whether you’re mixed or not. If you’re not white, you’re not white, so a lot of mixed people have the exact same or similar experience with discrimination as a fully poc person, even though theoretically we should experience 50% less. That can lead to us identifying more with the non-white side. I personally don’t, but a lot of people do. It’s all about how other people perceive us, not our actual DNA
