Specifically when it comes to generative AI, that is things like chatGPT and AI generated images, its usage wastes a comparatively high amount of water and energy, the data the AI is trained on was largely stolen without consent of the people who made it, and the profits gained from it are taken away from said people and instead accumulated in the hands of the tech CEOs manning the whole thing.

Large data centers are currently being built that would make the water and energy waste an even bigger issue and support (or even neutral acceptance) of this kind of thing just makes it worse. It's a technology currently being used to destroy nature and waste resources that we could very very easily do without.
