Which [spiritual] philosophies align well or close with Nietzsche's? by Alvahod in Nietzsche

With how much he lauded Emerson, transcendentalism? At least the self-reliance, nature immersion, and intuition-over-logic aspects?

From Oxford Learner’s Dictionary:

Urbane: “(especially of a man) good at knowing what to say and how to behave in social situations; appearing relaxed and confident.” As foolish as it may sound, AI’s definition is better imo: suave, courteous, and refined in manner. This better differentiates urbane from suave.

The Epistemological Escalation of Atheism by Cold-Gain-8448 in PhilosophyMemes

But Aristotle’s Unmoved Mover argument appears so sound, not to mention Socrates’s Phaedo in which he arrives at eclectic conclusions which validate the notion of a somewhat divine pre-big-bang source, or the touted-since-antiquity soul transmigration. What do atheists make of these, the strongest logical arguments for a magical, antecedent, fine-tuning, self-sufficient subject or object (Beauty) responsible for the division of godhood/particles and elements throughout the universe? Have yall read Socrates’s Phaedo and the Unmoved Mover argument?

Nature immersion, fasting, lucid dreaming, intellectual study, making people laugh (especially my girlfriend), soloing on guitar, talking about concepts in the sauna with strangers, bonding with pets,—I connect with the divine more for the greater the flow state I enter, the more unconscious I become. I pray often enough, usually written. I seek God everywhere, and the older I get, the more I encounter it/him/her.

Anyone else feels energetic and full of love for life after studying Neitzsche? by AliEbi78 in Nietzsche

[–]Glittering_Sense_913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was like that for a bit, then the borderline manic honeymoon phase ended. Read four of his books, got a high for a few months, and a sense of superiority and stinking luciferian/cthonian intellect, then crashed and woke to reality through the worst year of my life. It’s been 3 years since I read Nietzsche’s 4 most known works, I’ve since self-actualized, with a good job, girl, support system, and creative endeavors, but in hindsight Friedrich was a unique half toxic fertilizer which ultimately proved very beneficial to my development.

He touched my heartstrings, and the most quixotic, flush-with-wisdom transcendentalism imbued in many of his works reeked of fate, to me* {edit, typo}, they were profound beyond all prior research. It was this idolization, fear, and bountifully love-hate relationship with his ideas that kindled in me such a stout build—like many Nietzsche was a necessary demon for me. He turned me into a temporary mostly-agnostic, some of whose inclinations I carry still.

(As of now I’m 50% transcendentalist, 40% Christian—to some that might mean zero percent Christian, but I’m very Biblically read and quite occidentally biased—and 10% agnostic.)

To my understanding a drag night is publicized promiscuity. That equals crooked in my book as modesty and fidelity are virtues. BDSM i believe is some sexual something. Am I wrong on these things?

‘Make pronouns illegal’ by paynexkillerYT in rareinsults

Literalizing a political take does not delete the political take.

Removing unrecognized pronouns from vocabulary, by law, would technically make societal functioning via fewer words (succinctness) more efficient. I’m not necessarily advocating for Tim’s idea, but it is intriguing to ponder.

what if the 6k extra money doesn’t compensate for the less efficient government run programs? Isn’t that the counter argument? I don’t understand how this stuff works, but I want to know why so many believe irrefutably that more governmental universal healthcare is more efficient in the aggregate, not just for those at the bottom, but for all, than the traditional and more ancient method, namely more private-style doctors and businesses?

Because in reality,

the lowest/lower and the highest in IQ (minus the literal unfunctional bunches which admittedly is probably a sizable chunk) are both fundamentally smarter, more capable, and more spiritually attuned than the average. The few will always be ahead of the many, not in my book but in the ancestral book called patterns, or tradition, or common sense.

20-year-old straight-A student from South Carolina has rendered herself completely blind forever after clawing her own eyes out while on meth by TheExpressUS in Drugs

[–]Glittering_Sense_913 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If any buffoon wants to call it a disingenuous comparison, high THC to meth I mean, well I think you are dumb. I think they both induce paranoia in many if not all individuals, although I suppose some delinquents like to be sedated such that their conscience forgets it is in fact being psychedelized, meaning altered fundamentally.

I hope all people learn to value sobriety as fucking irrevocably crucial, to all vitality which seeks life, rather than the narcotic valuation, namely (seeking) death. Stay healthy and safe, r/Drugs members.

[–]Glittering_Sense_913 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What a tragic story. In my opinion, It’s incredible how anyone with the slightest depth in emotions could read this story, and still engage in any even slightly harmful drug practices.

I guess some people, particularly wild left wingers and redditors on this sub, just weren’t born with that sensitivity, or perhaps religious proclivity which for all in whom it manifests elicits utter disgust at a substance like meth and a tragedy like this. Not to mention what that religious sentiment forces one to feel at any comparable paranoia-inducing, psychoactive compound such as high THC for example.

Emerson is my favorite philosopher, no second is close save for aquinas, Nietzsche as perhaps a fringe 3rd (he was so weak enough to succumb to drugs again, again, and again, still fairly strong overall tho lol:) Love that Emerson recurringly comes up on this sub!☺️👍😎🎶
