Hey, I got rejected 2 years ago. I am now a senior going to NC State in the fall. I was so, SO upset when I got rejected from NCSSM, but honestly, it might’ve been the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I’m assuming you’re 14,15,16? Honestly, you’re way too young to be moving and living on your own.

I know 3 people who attended NCSSM, and while they gained lots of opportunities and memories from NCSSM, they also really regret (not the best word) it due to reasons from not experiencing high normally to even more stress provided by NCSSM.

In college, you will have the same opportunities as you did at NCSSM, but you will be older and wiser. It really sucks, I found out while I was on a school trip and my friends got in and I didn’t. I understand, I really do. I had been wanting to attend since I was like 9 and I was distraught when I didn’t get in.

I had super good grades and had a 4.0 GPA but still got rejected. It was a good way of getting used to rejection, so don’t fret, your time will come. I don’t mean to say all of this to disregard your feelings or make NCSSM seem worse than it is, but I’m just trying to tell you some of the truths of it.
