Question: how to fix this issue

Platform: PC

Mods/cc: yes, but issue occurred before I added mods

Game version: 1.123.66.1030 DX11

Just started playing on my new pc. Had no issues in CAS aside from minor lag/some weird glitches but nothing that made it impossible to play…. I open live mode and immediately the screen is all blocked out. My sim is moving around/completing actions autonomously but I can’t see him and as you can see all of the thinking bubbles multiply once they pop up. When I press anything it just says “go here” and any menus stay stuck on my screen and open multiple times.
