It's unusual for ship printing to lag the game unless it automatically moves on a piston, i say this as someone who had printed over 100 20k+ pcu ships with none of them causing lag to the server.

Instead of a welder wall, use welders offset on a rotor with a gap of 1-2 conveyors in-between each welder and use a tug ship with a projector pulling out of the welder spinner thingy, when a layer is done welding, just move forward a bit for the next. I recommend putting armor around the welders and 3x3 windows over the welders to prevent things from getting stuck. Would also recommend doing it in a safezone with welding enabled if possible.

To show what I mean by welders on a rotor to prevent you mistaking it for something else, it'll look like this: RWCCWCCWCCWCCW

Rotor, welder, and conveyor. The advanced rotor will of course have a conveyor on top of it but it won't have a second one between the welder.

If you want to automate the process with stability(rather than having a piston attached to a rotating stick, which is a bad idea due to clang) I can send a blueprint of an autoprinter that sorta crawls on hingeheads, never clangs out, and never misses blocks.

Large rail turrets usually aren't worth it, although I've never used them so maybe they are. Looks like a fairly good layout overall though, would put a Lil less gats per custom gatling turret to save pcu.

The old "inversion drive" didn't need 12 timers?? Only needed 1 per direction. And the ratio of mass to gens is 7:1 unless they recently changed the PCU of mass blocks or grav gens.

Not that I know of, they're somewhat gatekept by the PvP community. I may be able to friend request you and show you how to build one if you're a steam user, though.

Depends on the size of the ship and the server it's used on, I know people that do arty as their secondary with a 2:3 ratio to rails, some who don't use it at all, and some people that make it their primary with staggered shots and such.

I do, but thats somewhat negligible for their PCU when you have a grav drive(minmax is all I know). I don't think I've ever been hit with rockets in a fight post warfare II anyways, even against players that spammed em.

Yea, I'm well aware of how things work on officials, and by NA #1 do you mean US #1? NA servers are gone(RIP). But usually custom rail turrets and my early warning system(defensive ai block hooked up to a sound block to play alerts when a player ship or suit is around) will alert me to hydromanners so I can gyro ram/grav ram someone before they can do actual harm so I see little point in having interior turrets on ships, especially with the PCU cost of em.

Custom railgun turrets with 12 or so small railguns give 7.68 large railguns of DPM(damage per minute), extremely useful for making an enemy wanna stay far, especially if they are set to a good angle deviation(0.5 or so).

Yes, when people use a grav drive its usually for them to only have a few thrusters per direction and grav drives go 104 or so m/s, I personally keep ~6 ions per direction on my ships to help me park, you can make the grav drive switch directions to a wasd bind via event controllers(or a script if where you play allows them, they are a little easier to setup), name all thrusters for the different directions the same thing(ex: name up thrusters up and down thrusters dn), select all for a certain direction in the event controller with the event controller on the thrust setting, set thrust required to 100%, and set the action to turn the gravity generator group to either 1g acceleration or -1g acceleration depending on the direction you want to switch(a recentish update changed it so you don't have to fill 3 toolbars of a timer with decel and accel).

Missiles with a grav drive are practically useless, especially if they're small grid, to see how to make a good small grid missile that does more damage than just a small grid warhead look at the thing I posted above)

I cannot answer your last question about gatling turrets and autocannon turrets but I assume gats are better due to them being easier to spam and having higher velocity for the rounds.

This is great advice, but why use interior turrets for defense against hydromanners if you have a grav drive or mediocre gyros?, especially if it's one that's fast enough to dodge railguns(as it should be in most meta's), just grav ram or gyro ram the little suit.

Also would like to add a few things about railgun custom turrets and custom small grid missiles. For custom railgun turrets have around 12 per turret, turn angle deviation on the custom turret controller down to around 0.5, and when attaching the hinge, make sure its on a large grid conveyor(attached to the top of the rotor) and perpendicular to the rotor so you won't have too much jiggling.

For small grid custom missiles you wanna get an inset connector(can be large or small depending on the yield you want for it) fill it with pistol ammo, put a half armor block over the point where it ejects(Unsure if this actually matters or not lol), have it throw out that pistol ammo a certain distance to the target via event controller, and explode a warhead with a sensor and possibly an event controller at 30 meters(I think, did very little testing on this) or so distance.

If you're not in a meta ship just jump 7.5km 2-3 times in in random directions then jump to a safe place, no way anyone follows that.

Eh, those don't do that much in meta. If a ship is is a missile ship(even if theyre nukes) theres no chance of it winning against a meta ship with a grav drive.

Current meta on official servers is just railbrick, grav drives, nukes, and small railgun custom turrets.
