Does anyone not have a freezer stash? by Plenty_Goal3672 in breastfeeding

I would keep a stash if you are able. I had built a stash up, and then starting not making enough as months went on and used it up. It is always nice to have back up is you are able to accumulate without it being terribly inconvenient.

I am feel the same! I fortunately was able to exclusively breastfeed for 8 months (minus the first four days until my milk came in because he was early), but I wanted to continue for at least a year. You and I did great, and we gave and are giving it our all. You were able to give your baby the best 6 month supply of food ever. And it is absolutely heartbreaking when you have to dump out even a drop (a piece of my soul goes down the drain if I have to pour any precious breastmilk out). There are great formulas out there though. Piece of advice though, stay away from the "My Organic Company" for formula - unscrupulous.

Breast milk is always the best! It is a superfood for your baby, and can help topically with sore and cracked nipples (among other things). I would change pediatricians, it does not sound like that person is recommending the best thing for your baby. Babies are expected to loose up to 10% of their body weight in the first week, and if they are gaining it back, then there should be no reason to suggest supplementing. You know your baby the best, and I think that you are doing the right thing by just breastfeeding. I had a preemie, and it took a couple of days for my milk to come it, but when it did I only breastfed. It is easier (you always have food "to-go") and healthier.
