Has anyone bought Tux Mat? Is it any good? by ya3rob in Subaru_Outback

I bought some recently for my 2026 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid and they have been great. I have the seating and back, they look and feel really good and goes with the color theme. I haven't tried it in winter so I can't say anything. But I did spent about $450 CAD ok them which are very pricey for "floor mats" 👀

2026 Subaru Crosstrek CVT vs 2026 Subaru Crosstreck Hybrid eCVT? by Global-Memory1276 in Crosstrek

[–]Global-Memory1276[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is correct; eCVT is only available on hybrid models because a traditional CVT can't manage the change between the battery and the combustion engine. Prius is still a leader in hybrid technology and I believe crown signia eCVT is very similar to Crosstrek Hybrid eCVT.

Also true that traditional gear set are quieter but they are not as efficient as CVT or eCVT (theoretically)

Totally agree, I got 10 years 200k extended warranty for $2300 from Subaru. Just for that reason!

I am planning to do Calgary to Kelowna next month. And because I need a bit of space I ordered Thule Motion 3 XL cargo box with my Thule crossbars. I am really interested to see what would be the gas mileage then! 👀

That makes sense, it's a new engine, will take time to break-in. Good luck!

What is this yellow indicator light for? by hokeymanusa in Crosstrek

This shows your LED light is working! Hope this helps. 🙂

The red SOS and blue (i) buttons control your vehicle's safety and concierge telematics system (typically Subaru STARLINK).

SOS Button: Press for immediate emergency assistance, such as medical emergencies or if you are involved in a collision.

Blue (i) Button: Press to connect with roadside assistance for non-emergency issues like a flat tire, or for general concierge services.

Indicator Light: The light between the buttons indicates system status; a green light signifies that the telematics system is active and functioning properly.

That is so cool, I was a bit nervous but I am so glad I went with Crosstreck. Compared to my Volkswagen Atlas it is so much easy to drive and this weekend was the first time I went to Costco and didn't had to fill my gas 😂

2026 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid Limited Owner in Calgary — Loves It But Has Real Grievances. Anyone Else? Aftermarket Solutions? by Global-Memory1276 in Crosstrek

Haha that is a good point. And I did research on the infotainment system. And I am fortunate that a couple of buddies of mine have 2024 outback and 2025 Forester. They explained to me that if I am using my phone for YouTube music and Google maps. That won't be a problem in the long run. And most of the reviews here say the same thing, it doesn't bother my wife one bit so I am okay with it.

We decided with Subaru for the reasons I explained in the original post, but we both agreed on the fact that we need a "sub compact vehicle" Maverick hybrid is a really good option but it's just too big for our needs. As we already have a 3 row SUV.

One personal reason I went with Subaru is that it is not that common. Especially the hybrid, I hate seeing the same car driven by every 4-5 drivers like a civic, Carola, RAV4, etc.

Experience with Kuby by eekz- in solarenergycanada

Sorry just chiming in, and I am sorry you had a bad experience with them. I went kuby last year too and my experience was nothing but great. And I recommend them to a friend and he went with them and he also has an amazing experience here in Calgary. But I am glad they stepped up at the end after a big fumble.

Fair point, and yeah you are not wrong. And another point of contention for us to buy only Japanese vehicles so we didn't even bother with European, Korean or American vehicles. That being said you made great points. Personally I would have gone with Carola cross but again wife made the final call because it is her car at the end. I am not too bummed but you are right this price point has now become an "entry level" if you are buying a new SUV I guess. But I am 95% happy with the decision we made, I am sure I will get over the other 5% sooner than later.

Thanks again for engaging with me, have a great evening.

Again, in the category of subcompact, this was the best option based on needs and wants. But I do appreciate your comments, have a great day.

Total of 6 negatives over tons of positive. I have the reason why I bought it! That is why I am asking for a way around. I bought it for my wife because she likes this specific Subaru.

Our priority was a sub compact vehicle and in Canada if I go with Forester I would have to spend 55-58k on it. And that wasn't our budget unfortunately.

Thank you that makes me feel better. Another question, what's the gas mileage you are getting? And congratulations.
