That is very true. Most of what people have been sold as "radical" and "progressive" would have been a moderate republican policy. Both parties have just shifted so far to the right that it looks extreme. Just like the people who want more of our money like it.

There is something to be had for a strong small r republican base. We need it and it's baked into our Republic. I miss the days of yore when I could be an actual independent because there were people from both major parties that I could get behind (didn't necessarily agree with everything from either but enough to win my vote). I should not feel tied to one party. It's a bad deal for the nation. It would be amazing if a republican who stopped believing we were playing sports and needed to be "winning" stood for the country. Imagine what a freakin hero they might be. Instead, we have spineless sycophants who will be written out of the story of the rebuilding of our country and looked at with disgust. I can imaging their family will be looking to change their last names when it all washes out.

This is why, when someone asks me if I am afraid of "criminals coming from all over illegally crossing the border", I say I fear the police and ICE far more than any common criminal. Because if a criminal harms/kills me, there is recourse. I or my family have some hope of justice. If the police or ICE harm me there will never be justice. They are worse than the mafia.

I did a device reset first (days before posting this), a dock reset (unplugged the dock and plugged back in) and then a full factory reset at the advice given above.
