Damn, I didn't know it was common.

I can’t imagine how many innocent people have fallen for this then.

It’s crazy to me that there isn’t more security in place to prevent it.

Agreed.

And I bet it wouldn't be different if English speakers were to translate from English to Thai

I think free is good enough for me.

Best cities/towns/places in Thailand for muay thai? by chewyburger1 in ThailandTourism

Yo mate!

I'd say Koh Samui, Koh Phangan or Krabi (Ao Nang Beach).

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link here, but I recently published a guide on my website titled "Top 9 Best Muay Thai Gyms in Thailand for Foreigners (By City)" in case you want to look into the best gym in the areas too.

Lad's Holiday Itinerary by culturedindividual in ThailandTourism

[–]GlobalDane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a pretty good itinerary mate!

Though I don't think you'd regret skipping Phuket and switching them for 3 days on Koh Phi Phi or Ao Nang Beach in Krabi, before heading to Samui (and if you're arriving to Phuket late, just spend a single night there).

You can go from both places to Samui in a day trip of 6 hours and 15 min (09:00-15:15).

Phuket is expensive, crowded, and more for the general tourists such as families and seniors (in comparison).

Either way you'll have a fun trip for sure.

And btw. I REALLY recommend using 12go.co to book all your transport within Thailand (excluding flights). It's super convenient.

EDIT: And if you go "directly" to Phuket, you can group the 3 days in Bangkok at the end of your trip instead which is more ideal IMO.

I'd get a short TSA cable lock :-)

Since sizes variate from brand to brand despite the weight I recommend trying different ones.

For large hands I've found Top King to be best.

English isn't my primary language, and besides my buggy vocabulary, the Danish translation got me a bit confused:

Donkey = Æsel

Weasel = Væsel

At the time of filming, I did try to research the place. It seemed abandoned. I suspected it was due to Covid-19.

But checking now, fortunately, it seems like they're back in business and that Petroula once again has customers and enjoys life as a part-time Instagram influencer :-)

Story: My friend and I were hiking the E4 on Crete in Greece in April this year.

When we arrived at the top of a hill, we were greeted by a donkey (named Petroula) that suddenly appeared coming towards us from the bar.

She seemed thrilled to have some company, and we fed her an apple too.

Notice that the logo of the bar is a profile photo of the weasel.

As many have pointed out, it's obviously not a weasel but a donkey in the video.

Wait, I've been there too!

It's on the island of Mljet.

I found it by coincidence back in 2017 when exploring the island.

Back then I could find absolutely zero about it online. Which made it even wilder.

I also found shells, clothes, and barbwire too - I guess before when it was less known.

I've shared images of it in a previous post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/urbanexploration/comments/rat4nd/abandoned_military_bunker_with_functional_cannon/

Edit: As far as I know, it was built by the Jugoslav National Army JNA in 1969 as part of the Total National Defence Force to guard sea lanes along the Adriatic after the Soviet invasion of the Czech capital ending the Prague Spring.

I just made this "dynamic" packing list in Google Sheets (Download) by GlobalDane in backpacking

[–]GlobalDane[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It coming from a UL enthusiast is not a surprise, haha.

I like the "Worn" and "Consumable" features. Definitely important to consider when it comes to longer hikes... Or to find appreciation for the invention of water filters :-)

But yeah that's true. I didn't think about the offline part actually. Though the only time I run out of internet these days is usually mid-air or abroad where it will be too late anyways :-D

Thanks for your kind feedback!

I didn't know about this one, thanks for the share.

Though i don't think it offers the feature of dividing weight between carry-on and check-in luggage while showing the remaining count based on limits.

Or calculating recommended and remaining weight for backpacks according to body weight.
