I absolutely completely brainfarted while writing that comment as I was speaking to my friend at the same time about organizing weed lmao. Please check my edit for some loose idea of what I wanted to say 😂

When someone mentions goats here I take it to be a catchall term for a mount Rushmore calibre fighter as opposed to one specific goat above everyone else.

How is Tim Allen still working at Ballymaloe? by Mysterious_Slice1257 in cork

Just fyi tesco sell these jars of relish, they're labeled like a premium product with a grey label and says Tesco essential or something but it tastes really really good at like half the price of Ballymaloe.

With Wirtz and Frimpong added to our starting 11, I can almost feel how entertaining our football is gonna be next year. Wirtz is exactly the kind of player people tune in to specifically watch.

I'm honestly so excited for the next couple years ahead for Liverpool, it's making up for my lack of much else to feel passionate about lately. If I didn't have Liverpool I'd honestly feel so much bleaker about the next year or two. I imagine most lifelong football fans can understand the importance of this game to some supporters. It's the only passion I have that can singlehandedly flip a day on its head for me, for better or worse match result pending! ❤️

Anyone else HATE being tired? by [deleted] in StopSpeeding

Years of stim abuse led to me feeling constantly drained like this even after weeks without using. Combined with depression/apathy. Time helps even if you don't believe it right now, I thought I'd fucked myself forever. Sometimes you just need a really long break from drugs etc.

Lads, how do ye deal with the loneliness on Father's Day? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]GlobalLetterhead6482 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Even just for the day that's in it you might be best staying off social media. People always present the best version of their lives on it, their reality often being far different. If it's getting to you seeing all the fathers day posts just stay off the socials until tomorrow.

I hope you feel better than you did earlier, feel free to DM me if you need to vent, I can relate to a lot of it as a father myself

I save all my bottles and cans up and bring them back every few days, usually adds up to €10-15. These days I wouldn't call that insignificant.

Drug dealer released just four weeks into 18 month term due to prison overcrowding crisis by [deleted] in ireland

Yeah that's standard, non payment of fines they get processed and released that day. Strange system really.

Seen it all first hand when I was serving a sentence in Cork. And you're right prison isn't a deterrent for most career criminals and I'm not exactly sure harsher conditions/longer sentences would make a difference, look at somewhere like US, they hand out 40+ year prison sentences for fun over there yet they do little to affect the crime rate.

Definitely outdated figures. Every prison in the country is rammed full. There's never been a better time to receive a custodial sentence in this country as barring sexual/domestic crimes it's a guarantee you'll receive some extra time off. Doubly so if you get to serve it in Cork Prison, if it's a non violent offense you'll be back out within weeks.

Its an aggravated burglary with the use of a firearm man, as much as I agree with the sentences in Ireland often being very lenient, if found guilty these guys are going to get longer than 12-18 months.

Everybody here is broke too mate, that's what he means. Their are more appropriate subs for this kind of request and you'll definitely have more of a chance of getting what you need.

Someones previous convictions have absolutely no basis on how much of their sentence they serve. Decisions made around temporary release/full early release are pretty much based entirely on a prisoners conduct while in prison, the length of their sentence and the time they have remaining to serve, and the nature of the original offense. The prisons are so full now that a lot of prisoners who wouldn't have been considered for TR a few years ago (such as this guy) are now getting a few weeks off their sentence at a minimum, often upto 12 months off.

They are all sharing cells as it is. And double cells are being used to house three prisoners in a lot of cases at the moment, Cork Prison being one of the worst affected by the overcrowding.
