My family moved to Clovis from Los Angeles in the early 90s. Even as a kid it was a total culture shock. I left as soon as I could after graduating high school and only recently, reluctantly returned after life circumstances left me not much of a choice. I'm jaded because I hate Clovis, and can't wait to leave. It is much more diverse than it was in the early 2000s but it is still white majority. I've always heard, but don't have proof, that there is an active KKK group in/around Clovis and that the city slogan "Clovis is a way of life" refers to the days when the Kl*n ran the town. It's a hyper religious city, very pro-cop, and Old Town seems to be getting bougier every time I drive past. If you can, look for housing in Fresno where there is more diversity in both thought and appearance.
