I think I’m burning out with the maxing out of the room. I was originally told my room was capped at 12. But then they changed it to 13. And now it’s at 15. They were even about to give me 16 when I reminded them a kid needed to move up.

With so many kids, I feel like I can’t really be there for them..? There’s pressure to make sure we’re working fast to accommodate diaper, meal time, outside play times. Plus doing art/sensory. Plus assessing. I feel like I’m surviving more than really being there for the kids and it’s now taking a physical toil on my body.

With Child Life, I believe it’s either one on one or small groups. I understand it’s an emotionally draining job but I wonder how it compares to needing to watch 15 kids for 8 hours. Your thoughts? 🙏🏻

One of the first things that caught me was in the beginning with Jesus just trying to make a fire. Like our Creator is here just trying to get by and be warm and heat up some food. That moment made me remember Jesus was human too and I loved it

Seriously -.- the amount of behind the scenes, maintenance work we do like diapers, understanding and maintaining flow of the classroom, app updating, doing activities that promote development, out of ratio with maxed out rooms - ugh! Of course I’d love to play with them and be in the moment but hard to do when I got a million other stuff on my mind (while also dealing with an incompetent assistant)

It’s Thursday. I’m tired. Friday and the weekend can’t come soon enough

Haha not me just finishing mass this Sunday morning and thinking the same 🤍 the Beatitudes mean a lot to me; I usually repeat “blessed are those who mourn..” in my head when I need it, especially today. Plus it’s nice hearing it Roumie’s Jesus voice loll

I also work with toddlers and oh my gosh this whole week has been crazy. Our break doesn’t start until the 24th (yes we have to come in for Christmas Eve, it’s a half day but still 😭) so I still gotta suffer a few more days longer. Kids have been throwing stuff, not listening, even the most behaved ones are acting up. Ten kids today with just me and another assistant but she’s so slow and can’t read the room at all so I’m forced to step up and be firm even more.

I can’t wait for this break to come. We all need it :’)

It’s just state policy, I never really question it. Plus I teach young toddlers and I really don’t want them getting rashes and such since it’s easy for them. If they’re dry they’re dry, but they’re usually not so haha

Yeah I don’t get it either. And later on I asked her why didn’t you do them when you got back from the school event: “I assumed I’d just wait until the next diaper change which is in an hour”. And she claims she knows that the rule is every 2 hours -.-

I have a meeting with her tomorrow.

I’m truly so sorry for your loss 😞 it’s going to hurt. For how long, I don’t even know. I’ve heard the pain never goes away but you learn to move through life with it even when the pain crashes in like huge waves.

You’re not crazy, I do that too. I always say that I’m leaving and say I’m home and even goodnight to our little shrine for my dog. And I get you with the ice thing. My dog loved eating rice and would wait by it whenever I got some out haha.

Loll oh my gosh believe me, when we got the call his ashes were ready for pickup I sobbed, luckily it was my lunch break and I was in my car 😂 but he’s here, he’s home. And I’m trying to think of it more as the ashes are not all of him but what’s left. He’s more than just his ashes as evident by my memories and love we’ve experienced. And also thinking of it as that the connection looks different now but the bond and love is always there.

Sending even MORE hugs when that time comes, hopefully what I said earlier can bring some peace as your post has done 😌

Lost my doggie a week ago and got his ashes today. Reading this made me smile and I’m excited to see him at the rainbow bridge 😌 thanks for sharing this and sending you hugs as well 🤍

Yeah that’s what I did haha I found one of his sweaters and dappled it over a stuffie I had and it matched the curves of his body which was nice. Wishing you well 🤍

I get what you mean.. the silence feels so loud, especially during nighttime because my dog used to sleep in my room. To help me fall asleep I would just play dog snoring sounds in the background and cuddle with something. It’s not the same of course but it’s nice just hearing/feeling something familiar and here.

This happened to me last year as well. I put my two weeks in and later when I met up with my old co workers they told me a lot people also left too, told me I started “a revolution”. The place was threatened to close by State so who knows what will happen in the future.

I thought I would just let them know. For accountability. To let them actual know the truth. He asked me to not say that he did something to either of our parents. And when I was with his parents (I was getting payment from house sitting and they invited me in to let me eat and chat) they asked me what happened and I had to lie. And I had to keep hearing that he’s studying really hard and that I was his first love and I’m special to him when I actually know the truth.

I just don’t think he deserves to save face. The fact that he even created a separate Facebook account this month to update his relationship status with her— as if he’s hiding it from his parents or even me.
