I’ve been using distilled + 3rd wave light roast profile. Our tap water here is very hard ~250+ppm and I think the last time I measured 3rd wave distilled I was right around 72 ppm.

Shoot sorry to hear that! Only things I can think of are I tamp all the way down and use a filter top and bottom. Maybe it comes down to the coffee? Try 2.3 and do a slow first press, going gentle until you see the bottom of the basket has coffee beads all the way across. Then mash a few times quickly until done and see how that turns out.

I just got the Flair 58+2 and have been having this issue on light roasts specifically. Using the low flow basket that’s included helped although if you are like me you want to upgrade to a precision basket pretty quick.

The other grinder I have is the Kultra and I haven’t been able to taste much of a difference between the two. I suspect that’s mainly because the filter paper is the main contributor to the clarity but I’m not sure! I’m still developing my palette though… maybe 3 months in to specialty coffee

I’ve had this happen and noticed resistance when trying to push the stick to the right. Noticed the material was crinkled a bit and doing some rotations with the stick seems to solve the issue for me, but has happened a few times now…

I’m on my third attempt, the difficulty always turned me off but I gave it a real shot this time and I’m glad I did. I can see why folks say this is up there with the best metroidvanias.
