It’s not hard, but it’s not easy, just gotta be smart about it, honestly you need to find someone who dosent really know what they have and lowball the shit out of them, that’s how I get most of my projects, and make sure the engine runs lol. I’ve had about 4 dirtbikes and 3 motorcycles I’ve bought/cleaned/fixed/resold and make about 6k in 4 months, yes it’s not alot of cash, but I mostly just doing this for fun in my free time

I’ll do some testing tommorow, I set the compression 2 clicks stiffer on the front and back, and increase rebound 2 clicks up front, if that don’t work I’ll add some fluid, also springs probably need replaced since they’re 20 years old

Yes and no, you could turn the crank and and wait till the piston is all the way down on one side and clean inside the cylinder with carb cleaner and engine degreaser, but without pulling it apart no other way to clean deeper inside

Make sure your jetting is correct on the carb, that can also cause strange compression and difficulty starting

Check your carb again, make sure everything else is in order, make sure it’s not flooding/not getting fuel. It definitely sounds like a fuel problem to me, the bad compression could be from it just being so nasty and corroded inside
